Not ridiculous at all. It's a video game. Bioware is a developer they can do whatever they want. If they can change something minor that can be important for a part of the players, why not? If you think that I'm the only one who think like that, think again.

Dunno about you straight guys but I find Cassandra to be hot in both appearance and character. She's going to my 2nd or 3rd playthrough's LI and I can't wait for her to take control of my character. Rawr.

My opinions on the character models run the range. I love Vivienne because her features and almost African Queen esque, but on the other end Sera doesn't work for me at all, looks like an animated movie character. Even looking at her picture next to the others, it's almost a which one of these doesn't belong type of thing.
Cassandra looks old and hardened, which I guess she would be, she's not dawn of the seeker age anymore.
Leliana I'm mixed about, he face aged well, but if she's going to ave the hood on the entire game, then meh.
Most of the others I'm just indifferent towards. It's been fifteen years, so they've all aged some, and in troubled times as well.
But the hair just looks like string/yarn to me. The graphics power has improved since the first game but somehow the hair, beards etc seem to have gotten worse game by game. Then whoever decided on this lip gloss, vaseline, whatever it is I just want to ask what they were thinking because it just looks horrible on some of the characters.

Yeah, no. It is definitely that you think characters not being physically attractive to you is something that needs to be fixed.
Yeah sure, I'm the only one in the whole world think like that. ![]()

So because you aren't the only one the developers should listen to you over everyone who disagrees with you? There are enough games out there with charaters who look nothing like real people, for once it is nice to have a game with less "pretty" characters. The only thing I would love to see fixed is the hair, but I an not holding my breath knowing that Bioware has always had issues with hair.

Nope, developers should listen to themselves and their marketing department. Industry set the bar too high though, I agree. (agree about hair as well)

Nah, thats is not how logic works.
Because it can be important for the other players that it shouldn't be changed.

He is telling that to you because the Devs don't need to know that you want something that others don't want. You want something to be changed that others like. And that is egoistic of you. You are basically saying: "I want them to look different and I don't care if others actually like how they look like". That does make you an Egoist, but the Devs don't need that Information. You're the One that should realize this.

Bioware wants to create characters that seem real, that have imperfections. As opposed to having them look like touched up supermodels to appeal to a group of straight males with unrealistic expectations of beauty. They are doing what they want.

So it's egoistic to express my opinion about the game. Oh please. It's you're the one that should realize that people have different opinions. And yes, I think female companions (except Liliana, of course) look far from perfect. Dev's don't need this info? I'm sorry I've never heard of any good developer that would deny feedback before the game release. I'm 100% sure there is some marketing dude somewhere lurks on this forum and takes notes about everything we are talking about and in the end of the day he will be the one to give advices to the devs, not you.

Yes, bioware are going to radically redesign their characters because of one group of people. What about another group of people, should we say meh who cares about what they want? If you go with one group, you ****** of many more. At the end of the day bioware have gone with what they thought was best for the characters, and in imo should stick to that.

I actually think that most close ups looks really ugly and funny looking, but the more distant pictures seem very well done. For example take Cassandra. The close up looks really messed up imo. But in the background picture in her character page where she is with 2 other party members she looks great. Very different.
Josephine looks odd in one picture. Like she has very big teeth that push her cheeks out or something. Can't really explain it. While in the background picture she looks perfect. Not supermodel beautiful but I like her.
DA2 had the same problem too. Isabella's head looked like a balloon in the trailers. Both gameplay and cgi. But in game she looked very beautiful. I thought she was horrible and she turned to be the what I think the most good looking character in DA series.
Vivienne the same. When I first saw her it looked like a ball with a mouth (I wanted to say the V word but whatever ;p ). But in some other pictures she looks impressive because of better shading.
A lot of characters suffer from this. Dorian comes to mind. In one picture he looks like a sheep herder and the other like jonathan rhys meyers in dracula. Solas the same. He has a different head shape in every picture.
It's not consistent at all so I'm going to wait to see more of them ingame to judge.

Yes, it is egoistic to tell them to only listen to your point of view and make changes based on that. You aren't representing anyone. And if you are somehow representing a particular group there are also enough gamers out there, as this thread clearly shows, who don't think the characters look ugly or wrong. So why should Bioware listen to you and not to people like me who are happy that the characters in the game don't look like supermodels as in so many other games out there?
And no, you didn't just give some info you posted that they should just listen to people like you pushing aside everyone who doesn't have the same views as you do, which makes it an egoistic request.
Your own comment:
"If they can change something minor that can be important for a part of the players, why not?"
It doesn't matter if something "minor" is important to you and you want it to be changed. There are enough people who don't agree with you and who don't want this "minor" detail to be changed, namely we don't want characters to be prettified to the point they no longer look human but instead, once again as in many games, look photoshopped. Just look at the Witcher 3 the game looks pretty good but once again the characters look way too good, less realistic (imo) than they do in DAI. The graphical quality may be better in the Witcher 3 but they still seem to lean heavily on making the characters look like supermodels as so many developers do. We are being lied enough in our lives by the media and for once it is nice to see some more realistic looking characters, bar the hair.

Missed the point. This is not about to go and tell devs "go change this, go change that", it's about to make them know, that some part of " straight males with unrealistic expectations of beauty" which are by chance huge chunk of their customers. are not pleased with their female characterts art direction.
