It is exactly like regular Sims 3 but with all the features taken out! (at least until they can sell them back as DLC)

So what reason could anyone have to play Sims 4 over Sims 3?

I think they never want to design more realistic faces. So I suggest we all return to the hardly 3D Sims 1!

Question:

Are you comparing Base Sims 3 to Base Sims 4 (and if so how did you get an advance copy?)

Or are you comparing Base Sims 4 to Sims 3 with all the expansions installed?

Sims 4 is looking like a disaster. so far...it was first build as a online multiplayer game.

And it shows.

In sims 3 you had an open world , it's gone. You now have multiple load screens .

In Sims 4 there's no more toddlers , teenagers looks like adults (they didn't have the ressources to create special animation for a different body type)

The game comes out in September , they haven't shown any real gameplay yet.(except the character creator)

They promote the game with multitasking (it was already in the sims 3) and Emotions....one of the main thing they have shown is how your sims could laugh until it dies....

It's probably going to sell well because it's a Sims game , but I know I'm not paying 60 euros for this.

I got Sims 3 in the Humble Bundle so I feel good about that purchase since the money went to charity.  If Sims for does the same sure I'll take the dip, though I will wait until the full game is revealed before I decide if it is a good or bad game in comparison to previous titles.

I checked Wiki and realized Sims 1 had 7 expansions, Sims 2 had 8 and Sims 3 had 11 expansions (DLCs).

At this rate Sims 4 may have 15 major DLCs and dozens of micro DLCs. Brace yourselves!

Well a couple of months ago , EA send me a 20 minutes survey basically asking how I'd prefer to pay for Sims 4 DLC...

Stuff like would you be willing to pay a 150 euro pass to have an expansion pack and  some other downloadable stuff on the side?

Was there an option to say "I'm not willing to pay $400 for all the DLC as that's one of the dumbest things I've ever seen in gaming" by any chance?

Because that's what I'd like to tell EA about Sims 3 DLC.

Honestly, I'm not excited about Sims 4 because I can bear starting from the beginning with no expansions, but the graphic is just too terrible. Look up Sims medieval, the graphic is a lot better and more realistic than the pile that is Sims 4. Sims 1 and sims 2 (With mods) are the most realistic and I still play it now and then. I got bored with Sims 3 so quickly that I haven't touched it in a long time.

Do you really need an advance copy to know what they have planned for the Sims 4? This is EA after all, I mean you could be fairly certain that this was going to happen even before they announced that pools and toddlers were no longer a thing in Sims 4 and if their own admission that they have cut features isn't proof enough then I am not sure what is?

I just prefer to have all the information available before making a decision.

It is a little strange that the game is coming out soon and there are only a few videos to see.
I have been trying to see some gameplay but i could not find any.

It's to be expected really, and I fail to see why you would hate them for being like every other business...

The character creator looks cool, but that's about it. the characters in general do not look better than The Sims 3 (Or 2 for that matter) and the game is probably gonna be pretty much the same as Sims 2 too, as they seem to be deleting everything new they added in the Sims 3 again. (Not that I mind, I also liked 2 better). Anyway, in general, certainly not worth 60 euros imo, let alone a lot more for the DLCs. Might buy it when it gets really cheap, but not before.

Not insteresting to play crippled game that are missing features that earlier games had in their base games.

Base game that are missing

- No open world

- Small worlds (max 25 lots per city) Sims 3 had 92 lots in starter town. So at best luck sims 4 will have 75 lots in base game, because of 3 towns. Sims 3 had 2 towns, first 92 and second free base town was 95 lot size. So thats total of 187 lots in sims 3.

-No create a style (you cannot change the colour of the clothes or walls or hair freely as you could in sims 3)

-no color wheel

-No basements

-no toddlers

-no pools

--no opacity slider for make up.

-no skin tone slider

-no swim wear

-no rabbit holes ( they just go side of the lot and disappear)

-no favourite dinners, music or colours.

-loading screens

-foundations are in every build in lot if placed

-3 floors at max ( sims 3 had 4+basement levels)

-Max lot size is 50 (sims 3 has 64 i think)

-story progression is now bad too.

Yeah, sims 4 is going to be turd like 2.

Are ... are you trying to be ironic?

2 was easily the best Sims game. The Sims 3 is a poorly optimized piece of **** to this very day.

EDIT: Not that that excuses the lack of swimming pools and toddlers and other things that were in TS1 and TS2, but seriously. Any design decision that intentionally step back to TS2 from 3 is a good one.

It's to be expected really, and I fail to see why you would hate them for being like every other business...

Please tell me this isn't serious. There is a difference between making money and shamelessly milking a successful franchise until it has been sucked dry. If you buy everything that has been released for The Sims 3, expansions, store content and stuff packs, it costs you over $1000. That's ridiculous and way beyond just "capitalistic". This is pure greed. TS3 base game had far less hairstyles than TS2 base game. Why? To sell more over their hair in the store of course. Even worse when you consider that Sims 3 has a reputation of being extremely buggy and prone to crashing. It was capable of frying people's graphics cards because the game did not have a FPS cap or something like that and therefore had GPUs blazing to get a way higher FPS number than necessary. Add to that that the sims themselves look like they're made of pudding and always have the same fat face (at least without mods) and there is no way I am paying what EA is asking. I love The Sims but I jumped ship when TS3 came out and I am very glad to have stuck with TS2 and even TS1.

I have watched the information they have released about TS4, which is appallingly little while they have been offering preorders for over 1.5 years now, and I already know this is not going to restore what TS3 restored. It's only going to get worse.

That is capitalism...it's all about making money in whatever ways you can. Capitalism at it's finest IS PURE GREED. If that means gimping your game so that people will HAVE to buy the petty expansions then that's what's going to happen. Hell, the best time to buy any expansion for a Sims game is when they put it on sale, and even then the sale is still pretty expensive.

At the end of the day, all video game companies are about making money in whatever way possible. EA s never going to say "Oh, we have enough money now! Let's give everything away for free with the base game!". If they did that they would not be able to MILK the series for money.

Hell, video game companies are selling "Season Passes" for DLC which are likely more expensive than purchasing the DLC individually, and sometimes the "Season Pass" does not even cover ALL of the DLCs!

It's the Video Game industry that has become this sh*tty. Because they make intellectual products (lol at the term, actually softwares) that don't have much rivalry in the market. What is the equivalent/rival of 'The Sims'? Almost nothing. So they can milk you in whatever way they want.

But in the other sectors of capitalistic markets it's not this vicious. If you don't like Ford or WV, you can get Hyundai or Nissan. Or for mobile phones, if you don't like Nokia anymore, you can get Sony or LG. Even in the Cinema there is lots of varieties and options.

People are crazy SIms 2 and even Sims 1 are a whole lot better than the pile that is Sims 3 and even Sims 4. In Sims 2, they focus more on family interactions, you could go on actual dates and waiting for tables just like in real life. With mod, Sims 2 looks more realistic than both sims 3 and 4 combined. Sims 3 always looks doughy while Sims 4 looks very cartoonish. This game was made for casual fans, and really defensive ones, too. I'll let them play it then since the game wasn't made for me.

The November update has now added Swimming pools and swimsuits into the Sims 4 and patched up a lot of content.

http://help.ea.com/e...sims-4-updates/

Have to give it to EA as lately they have been listening more and more to the feedback the playerbase has been giving them and even surprising people by having this as a free content update as most people just figured it would be paid DLC.  So a good sign they are trying to make themselves more user friendly.
