Turian adept: Warp, biotic focus, reave 

Drell soldier: Assassin mode (increases damage per shot and accuracy, at the expense of RoF), tac scan, concussive shot

Salarian sentinel: Incinerate, tech armor, throw 

Drell engineer: Incinerate, homing grenades, combat drone

Drell sentinel: Tech armor, energy drain, cluster grenades

Can't live without Cluster Grenades. They always come back to my thoughts when I think about a Drell kit. Old habits die hard.

That's thematically what I think would fit a krogan engineer. More explosions, less hacky techy stuff. The entire idea of a krogan engineer is kinda silly, though. 

 

Alternatively, give them a Supply Pylon and a level 6 rage upgrade that lets them heavy melee it for a free grenade every minute or so.

I would argue that the only really silly class specialization for a Krogan is Infiltrator, and that's predicated on the assumption that there are literally no Krogans that have ever once attempted subterfuge for any reason. Saying that the idea of a Krogan engineer is silly is like saying the idea of a Krogan scientist is silly.

Plus I'd just love a Krogan blowing sh1t up with the power of science.
I would pay for a damn alternate skin with a labcoat and goggles.

We have volus who are experts in combat. And 4 volus characters as opposed to 2 salarians, who are supposed to be combat experts. Lore be damned.

I get everyones anxious to get their builds out for kits they have in their mind, but the idea was that I give one fictional kit a day, and then you post a build for it. When the next kit goes up, you can still post a build for the previous one(s).

 

Really, the intent was to have a more structured method of coming up with unique builds for certain races that weren't placed into a certain class.

As for a Krogan engineer.. Maybe something like Combat Drone or Decoy, Ballistic Blades and Homing grenades.

Alright, here's my Krogan Engineer. I think this kit necessitates a couple of unique powers...

 

1. Incendiary Pyjak (Rather self-explanatory, I'd say.)

2. Spike Trap (Functionally similar to Proxy Mine. A bounding mine deployed by throwing, shoots spikes to all directions when triggered, causing both direct damage and bleeding DOT. Can be evolved into fire/tech primer.)

3. Incinerate (The good old crowd pleaser.)

Napalm Blades (essentially ballistic blades with fire procs and exploding blades can cause FEs)

Warlord Rage/regen and battlemaster passives.

 

I would actually take radius, cryo, and max charges on the hammer. For defense matrix, I would spec it for constant purging and shield regen. Napalm blades would be reach, radius, and exploding blades.

The Krogan Engineer should have a grenade power called Claymore Mine, kind of a combo of a Recon Mine, Cain Mine, and Proxy Mine that can be tripped or self-detonated.  Pressing the button once sets the mine, pressing it again detonates the mine (unless it has been tripped already). 

 

I'm thinking base damage of maybe 500, but it should have a very wide radius (like maybe 8m base).  It should also apply significant effects to the enemy:  like a 15% movement speed penalty, a 10% debuff, and a DOT "bleed" effect of about 100 base DPS (duration: 6 seconds).  I'm thinking:

Rank 4:  Increased Damage and DOT / Radius

Rank 5:  More grenades / Increase damage to shields/barriers by 50%

Rank 6:  Cryo effect / Incendiary effect

 

Cryo effect:  Increase debuff by 5% and movement speed penalty by 10%, add 50% armor weakening, and add a Cryo effect that can be detonated (Cryo Blast-style, not Snap Freeze).

 

Incendiary effect:  Increase damage to armor by 100%, and add Incendiary effect that can be detonated.

 

OP?  Maybe making the effects detonatable is too much.  Might have to set a target cap on that.

I'm envisioning a Krogan pulling out a Zippo and a can of hairspray, lighting a Pyjack with it, and then kicking it at the enemy while laughing.  Seems very Krogan-ish, but PETA might have a problem with it.
