In panel, talking about people who complain about them spending so much time on romance. Patrick points out that 60% of the game is combat.

Also make the point that there ARE straight people who enjoy accessing the lgbt content, and that the numbers of players who access it is larger than the supposed percentage of lgbt players, so it's a mistake to say that only a small percent of gamers are wanting the gay romances.

P. Weekes: More people romanced Leliana as a a female warden than chose to play a rogue. So should we cut rogues out of our games?

In response to comment: "It seems like you're making games for minorities, and straight white guys are an afterthought."

P. Weekes: I think straighty is gonna be ok. I think straighty's gonna make it through.

David told a story in the GaymerX panel about informing one of the voice actors that their character is a male romance option.

 

DG: You have no idea how okay the actor is going to be with this, necessarily. So you bring it up and float it, like: "Okay, we've talked about this a little bit before but your character... is gay."

 

[other panelists]: Super gay.

 

DG: Super gay. And I just loved that their response was "Oh, excellent. Awesome, great. And then he just turned it on its head and was like "Well what kind of sex do we need to have?" 

 

(David talks about his reply to that question, "Oh no no, it's not ...... [game]" but there's an audio bug and it's impossible to hear.)

In terms of the audio not working:
 

 

 It works, but not in the player, you need to qoute your post so that you see the link directly, then you copy it and it works. but not in this player thingy ^^

Today they talked about how it can be awkward to have the meetings about romance scenes because they're all Canadian. Then they mimed being around the meeting table, embarrassedly covering their faces. "We're an 18+ game, I think it's okay to have nipples right?" My words don't really do the visual justice though.

(Also don't take that as confirmation of nipples, it was likely said just for the funny of it)
