Never surrender. I kinda felt bad after giving Isabela up to the Arishok, but I grew used to it.
Game style: No retreat or rewinder?

If it's something minor, I'll leave it be. If it's something major (e.g. I accidentally make a decision that gets Morrigan killed), I'll take the time to go back and fix it.
Yeah, my thoughts too.

You gave Isabela up! You cold hearted bastard ![]()
Then again, you RP characters that are loyal to the Qun, so I guess that makes sense.

Wow. I was... totally unprepared for the second Line.
And, for the record, I still felt bad.

Building up courage to go no retreat the first time on this one...

I usually go for the no retreat option in my first play through unless I hit a line of dialog that is completely not what I wanted to say (it makes no difference if that line has any other impact or not - I will reload the conversation). That's how I ended up with Alistair dumping me for the throne in my first DAO play through and killing both Anders and Fenris on my first DA2 play through (I definitely had a lonely Hawke). Later I will metagame, but the first time is relatively sacred in terms of reloads.

I'll rewind, retreat and whatever means necessary (well, at least those wich don't break the game lol) if I don't like the outcome or if my party gets nearly wiped. I have enough with reality wich I cannot undo, so at least I'll enjoy playing my way.

Since I will play the game multiple times, reloading and playing out scenes many times in one play through will be a complete waste of time.
On the topic of the demo scene though, if the death of Sera leads to something further down the road I have no problems with my companions dying. If that was the final part of that quest, I might be a little disappointed in her death(well not really Sera, but if it was a companion I liked)

If the thing I do that has bad consequences is what my character would do, then I won't rewind. I'm not going to do something out of character to get a certain result. My character doesn't know that that bad thing will happen. Plus, I want some bad consequences. I'm gonna love that. It makes it more real and exciting. Howver, if I do something I feel is out of character for my character (bad consequences, good or no) I will rewind.

I generally reload only on bugs or glitches.

No retreat. No regrets. It makes it a much more enjoyable, authentic experience for me to make decisions in the game and live with the consequences, even if they happen to be negative.

If it's a genuine blunder on my part I'll probably let it stick my first run, but I will make damn sure to avoid it in the second.

Normally I don’t reload, mostly because it’s just too hard to find the motivation to do things all over again.

ill be reloading, back in the old demo where we had to pick to save the town or the military keep or both, i would choose both as to not lose both areas, but according to developers that kind of stuff is gonna be hard. Im not gonna lose an area to explore just because i was too lazy to reload, now if we have to pick one or the other and no both, then i would have to let one go. As for reloads for character's deaths (like possibly sera's, although i still dont think shes dead) then yes, i would reload an earlier save before i did that quest to try and figure out a way to save that character... i dont like letting characters go or die, limits my versatility in combat down the line

I used to rewind all the time looking at wiki to see which one is the 'good' choice lol
but I kinda want to go 'ugh screw it' this time, I think that will make my choices much more impactful and meaningful.

I'm most definitely a rewinder hahah, if something like Sera happened *if she actually died* then i would reload a save most definitely. it's one of the main reasons why i have such a hard time with Fire Emblem. Since units die permanently, so I have to restart my last save if one unit falls. I'm too attached and cling onto the last bit of hope.

My first playthrough is typically all about instinct and sometimes the failure of that instinct. I like it to be as fraught and emotional as possible, and making mistakes and living with the consequences is part of that for me. My best memories of DA:O and DA2 all come from my first playthroughs because of this.
On replays, I am more meta-gamey and analytical, in order to acheive specific outcomes.

I'm a compulsive rewinder.
Though I don't do it so much to avoid "bad" outcomes as much as to get the outcomes I want (which are sometimes "bad).
Usually only really done when a certain decision didn't exactly mean what I thought it would and I end up doing something OOC.

My first playthrough is always a colossal clusterf*ck...and I like it like that lol My first playthrough of DAO I told Leiliana to sell her brand of crazy elsewhere, didn't know how to use the Litany of Adralla and ended up killing all the mages, etc. Unless I make a really bad mistake - like the other day when I ended up having to kill Wynne at the start of Broken Circle - I will rewind, only because I need my healer...though I do plan on defiling the Urn this playthrough, so ummm...yeah
I like to play blind to start, which means I may well miss some companions my first time through DAI, but I figure the learning curve is going to be pretty steep anyway, I won't have the energy to second guess myself as I'm trying to avoid fights all over Thedas (maker, I SUCK at combat!)

No retreat. IMO that's what makes Bioware games fun, seeing the different outcomes

My first playthrough, while a canon character playthrough will be all mistakes all the time, no retreat and no back tracking to saves.... I will just have to play that canon through another time to get it having the ‘correct’ outcome at a later date, I might even keep some of the mistakes if I like where they take me.

When DAO first came out there were no wiki guides to play by. I never really knew if a choice was wrong or if I could have done something different. With DA2, Mass Effect 2 and 3 I knew everything going into the game so it was easy to make the right choices. Since I will be playing DAI at release it will be much like DAO playing blind. Why would I rewind? How would I know where to rewind too?
