Thank you so much, daveliam
. If you don't mind, I would add it to the OP.
No worries. Of course you can!
You could read those results? Explain the other one using the words stats system, I curious about the playthrough of previous game stats.
Yeah, those last two columns are difficult to read because they are actually meaningless. The problem is that the survey system counted them as continuous quantitative variables, when in reality they are actually nominal categorical variables. In other words, the system counted them as if they were numeric values (with 1 being the first "number" and 5 or 6 being the last 'number'). But they aren't numbers, they're categories, so it's a useless figure. If the numbers actually meant anything, then they would represent the mean (average) and standard deviation (distribution of scores, roughly) of those numbers.
Yay! Advanced Quantitative Research Methodology for Doctoral Students finally paid off!
I just want to chime in and clarify that, by virtue of this being a computer survey on a video game forum, we're going to have some inherently skewed results. Just being on the BSN gives a heavy slant toward reaching people that are primarily PC gamers.
Pretty sure if we had a survey that only showed up on our Xbox or Playstations, the survery would be saying, "Oh man, PC gaming is DEAD, huh?"
That's not to take anything way from the survey results, since they're pretty interesting, but let's keep that in mind before some people start waving their Platform Victory flag.
Also, an excellent point. This only speaks to the demographic who it represents: in this case, BSNers. Not the Dragon Age fanbase and especially not the larger gaming community.
