Meh, as I play exclusively as a femshep she's the best choice due to the massive dearth of options (Garrus is alright but plays the role of right hand Turian better IMO). However I like the Sam romance too, but over the trilogy for femshep Liara is best. The voice acting clicks rather well between them.

I've gone 50/50 with malesheps and femsheps. My canon romanced Tali exclusively; my canon FemShep romanced Kaidan exclusively (bit of an extensive headcanon behind those two Shepards - they're siblings from Mindoir; in each of their universes the other died). Others include a FemShep who romanced Liara then went to Garrus and stuck with him, a MaleShep who romanced Ashley exclusively (in progress, on hold), and a MaleShep based on Jayne Cobb who knocked boots with every human female in the game (then subsequently saw them die, one by one - I didn't plan that, honest). Figure I'll have a FemShep romance Jacob just once because I heard it was actually good, but probably won't take that one into ME3. Mostly doing it because I haven't played an Adept yet.

With Citadel DLC, I recommend Jack. Lots of unexpected impulsive dialog to had there.

Ashely is a pretty good romance as well, but more opinionated, family-oriented, and supportive in ME3.

I recommend a nice Volus. They have a lot of money.

And who knows what the females look like?

Miranda is my favorite especially with the addition of Citadel. But it's tied with Liara, because you really do get content throughout all 3 games, and it's fun to watch her become

Spoiler
and a little bit darker, and not so naive.

Morinth. Powerful, mysterious, and....critical....

but you have to recruit Samara immediately after Horizon and do her loyalty mission immediately, and let Morinth kill her.

That's what I did on my last trilogy run. Morinth had real potential as a character.

Wonder what people would have thought of her if things were flipped around and you recruited Morinth first, and she was on the run from her mother... Hmm.

Morinth had more of the Cerberus feel to her character. Recruit Hannibal. Samara didn't have that feel.

But in all honesty for a male Shepard, Jack. Just because... Jack.

I agree with SporkFu. I thought Morinth had really interesting potential as a character but because she shared a spot with Samara didn't get nearly enough attention.

As for the love interests, my ranking: Liara > Jack > Ashley/Miranda > Tali

All I can say is that Mass Effect was very limited in Romance options, because of animation issues. If animations weren't a problem, I'm sure we would have gotten more romances at least. Every scene is built upon rehashed animations, and you can see how awful things get when you flycam and watch a particular scene.

PS: I was very glad that DA: Inquisition actually made the Iron Bull romance'able for all race and both genders, because John Epler and all the animators they got it to happen. Before that, his romance was limited to only certain races. ;)

Wonder if they'll throw an ode to Debra Winger's ... performance in Urban Cowboy in there.

Mmhmm! :) Even the Dwarf, and that is spurring up a lot of... tension.

For once, I am consider on getting Inquisition just for this romance. I like the big men, but that's just me.

Get the game anyways. From what has been shown thus far, it looks very good. Looking forward to release day.

When it comes to romance, here's who I think you should pick (in order):

M!Shep - Tali, Miranda, Ashley, Jack, Steve, Kaidan, Liara, Allers

F!Shep - Kaidan, Traynor, Thane, Garrus, one-night with Javik, one-night with James, Jacob, Liara, Allers

For either, Samara's "romance" is good

If you have all DLC, Ashley is a very good option. I liked the romance.. aside from the fact you still have to confirm the relationship halfway through ME3, while having been faithful all trilogy.

Ugh, women :P

Is that 'death' tattoed on her hand?

Does she have a word tattoed on the other? I never noticed that detail.

Yep. She has the word reversed on her other hand.
