Now I'm not entirely certain if this was already done in another thread but I'll take this down if it has.

So I noticed that there are several new demons that roam the Fade like the Fear and Terror Demons and possibly more that are yet to be revealed.

Here we will be covering...
1) The creatures themselves.
2) Possible capabilities.
3) Their place of domain within the Fade.
4) Predictions for other demons that maybe encountered.

  • First hi and all that, often a lurker but never a posters. I'm curious as to how different compaions might react to being in the fade. I'll wager a guess that some demon or the main villian will use a loved one to mess with the inquistor. Cole and Bull might deal with demons or in Cole's case accepting that he might be one. Maybe there are other magisters "trapped in the fade. I'm eager if the fade will effect combat and if so then how.

The Fear Demon

Like other Demons we, the players encounter in the Fade the characteristics of this hellish monstrosity is in its own name like the Lust and Sloth Demons. I believe that there is a high probability that this is a stronger class of aberration than say the Pride demon and maybe resides in a deeper unexplored area of the Fade which is why until now(In addition to it not being created by the developers yet) was not encountered before.

I believe that its style of fighting consists of using hexes to play on the fears of the Player and his/her companions causing them to flee from the field, cower in fear, or turn on their allies causing chaos on the field.

The question is though is the Fear demon a lesser or greater version of the Terror Demon?

Interestingly enough, the fear demon that we see in trailers resemble some statues that we see in DAO. namely in mage tower basement.

Wasn't that a Despair Demon? Might be wrong, though.

Anyway, I wonder if "Demon of Vengeance" is an actual Demon Class that might appear. That would be awesome. Maybe it's true Form has Feathers...

According to the wiki that is a Fear Demon pictured above since I saw the same one on the monster's profile.

How ever there was that rather skinny faceless creature at 1:28 that looked like some kind of Demon as well.

@Feybrad That creature could be a Despair Demon although only Fear and Terror have been presented although there is a creature called a Nightmare as well but I'm not sure if that is a Demon.

I am talking about those tall spiky tailed things. They are pretty common. Guess they replaced sloth or rage, lol

To be fair, I never could understand why sloth demons were so active and around. I don't mind them being replaced.

As I mentioned earlier I wonder if the Terror Demon is a lesser version of the Fear Demon or is it the other way around? Its also possible that its a different kind of creature entirely.

I'll have to look next time!  Or do you have a pic?

That would actually  be pretty cool, or use the same animation stances as Anders when he went all glowy.

I keep thinking there is some sort of demonic presence within the hand of the Inquisitor.

Common misconception: Sloth demons are not lazy themselves. They feed on people's lazyness and trap them using that. They want you to stop trying and become complacent.

No, I wish I had pictures because those really stood out to me before inquisition was revealed. I replayed the mage origins again and that statue really stood out since it look very similar to the Fear(?) Demon.

It had similar head shape plus those things in the back.

I am guessing they are more or less demons they planned to include, but couldn't due to the engine at the time.

Any thoughts on that demon or spirit that's wearing that robe? I personally think/hope its a spirit since it looked like it was in the Fade and minding its own business.

Hmmm I wonder if certain demons will be returning.

I can imagine the basic ones but one like Sloth or Pride are a bit debatable.

Would be interesting to also see how Frostbite will render a desire demon too.

@ 03:17 in part 3 of the E3 video, a sloth demon can be seen on the right (image below), no?

did we ever have a unique model for hunger demons (only ones i remember were the abominations and shades)?  I mean we had the rock wraiths, but i dont think that is its true form and since we've concluded that sloth demons get the shade form, what form do hunger demons take?....

The Hunger Demons I remember look like much more vile versions of the Sloth Demon if I remember correctly.
