When I first play a new game, I don't use fast travel unless forced to. Because I have found new quests and the like that have opened up. But I am a person that needs to explore every nook and cranny.

Even more than once!

If I have already journeyed through an entire area, traversed all of the terrain and seen everything that there is to see, yeah, I'll use the fast-travel option.

There's no point in artificially extending the life of the game by slogging it through the same areas over and over.

That being said, I am an EQ vet from the days of old, so I do appreciate making a long trek across open terrain and exploring.

Probably not going to use the horse all that much.

It depends on a few things. Firstly, how large and how devoid is the map? If it’s say Dragon’s Dogma then I would (if I could) fast travel more often than not. And secondly, how urgent is what I’m doing? If something seems urgent I tend to fast travel just to maintain the feeling of urgency. When I do fast travel I tend to divvy up the map into sorts of hubs, traveling to those hubs and hoofing it the rest of the way so I still get to see new places and encounters while still cutting down on the monotony of trekking endlessly across empty landscapes I've already seen.

Only over areas I've traveled a million times

And from right in front of a boss room to a camp to get hp back, then back again

instead of fast traveling I'll probably just mount it and ride. I've never liked fast travel in games because it takes out the immersion for me, even if it's heavily convenient. So maybe if I REALLY want to save on time.

Accidentally double posted >.> But to add onto my previous point, I just like enjoying the graphics too much even if I've already been through an area once, it just feels nice traveling.
