I'm hoping at the best an small teaser, like the legion reveal, but I feel that what we'll get is some concept art and brief descriptions by the devs. At the very worst they could have a panel, just like the Extended Cut DLC, where they don't talk about it and ask us which Mass Effect was our favorite. Please Bioware! I'm begging you at least give us a name to speculate on. Prove to me you can come up with better teaser than the E3 because that one was bubbling tossage.

Okay, it's not called Mass Effect 4. Go.

Okay, okay, you drive a hard bargain. It also takes place in space, it doesn't star Shepard, and there may also be combat, conversations, and exploration.

I'm curious: when will you guys start actually releasing real info? Can you give us a date, or a time frame at all?

I found out about this survey on The Escapist, wound up looking through their forum, and then saw a couple of posts about Drew and Dark Energy and then I was grumpy (just to be clear, I disagree with the Dark Energy claims). I don't want to be grumpy. I don't want to be forced to get information second-hand.

When will you be releasing information?

Also: You should have had "world-building" or "lore" as an option for "What are you looking forward to the most?" Stuff like the Krogans or the Quarians is not story, it's world-building or lore.

I'm calling it right now, it will be a hour long blabbering without any new information.

That's what typically happens at this event, it seems.

Now that's much better. You see guys? Devs can be reasonable

Hmm ok how about a question based on information you've already made public?

Was the alien in the video you showed us a Krogan? Yes/No (Hopefully that will keep the answer vague enough to suit as a question)

#7 kinda annoyed me. That isn't what I'm looking for in RPGs. Had to pick 'story choices' (or whatever it said - I did the survey earlier), as that was the closest.

In that, yes, I'd go with EntropicAngel. Worldbuilding and lore is very, very important.

Here's something, in case anyone from Bioware is reading: Don't spread story out to secondary media (movies, comics, books, kinda DLC) this time around. It can have a debilitating effect on the main installments of the game series. Have a single super tight game, first and foremost. In story, in gameplay, in everythinnnn.

Alright.

Got my request in for the next PC to be Liara and Shepard's daughter.

You're welcome, everyone.

And you're right, ever since the hat incident I've been craving more hat.

All about knowing what drink to pair. I recommend a weißbier with your tyrolean hat, and for your fedora, a PBR.

That survey seems like something you'd put out before development starts, not half way through.

I think it's more directed at the inevitable cuts that come later in development. Early in development, you need a clear basic plan. You can't just out and make random assets for 12 months and then try to figure out later what you're game is going to be. You have to take the core tech in some direction. You can improve and tweak that as you go, but you can't say "Oh, people want exploration, so I'm going to make my linear corridor shooter into ARMA 3 in space with 4 Earth-size planets to explore!"

This guy sums up my feelings, though it's not really what's going on here:

Less 'design by concensus', it crippled TOR, just grow a pair already.

I don't think that's true at all. Larian has been pretty pleased with how Early Access feedback has affected Original Sin, and that ended up pleasing fans and critics alike all while being brutally uncompromising in its core design. Same story over at Cloud Imperium (Star Citizen) and inXile (Wasteland 2, Tides of Numenera).

I found that one on the web a few minutes ago, but couldn't get the link posted.. I think that our esteemed up leader here at bioware are dragging their feet on the next game. I hope its not as militarily proven as the last three turn out to be. I just played through again and never have I saluted so much... Beats push ups tho... maybe.

It's work title is probably "New Horizon" or "Noveria" or "Palaven" or something similar for now. Basically, the name of a place we know very well, which we know has/had some important things going on in ME lore, and now is the key location for a new story. Eventual release title being subject to change to better reflect the plot.

I don't want to salute once if I can help it.

I want my protagonist to be much more of a free agent, and one that doesn't even require his allies to salute in order to believe they are loyal.

Ragtag team, at least in some ways, wouldn't be bad.

Okay, it's not called Mass Effect 4. Go.

But it will feature the words "Mass" and "Effect" in the title along with another word or maybe more. But not the number 4 as that would suggest a sequel to Mass Effect 3 and a continuation of Shepards adventures.

So does that mean that Mass Effect:Krogan Tonka racing is confirmed?

I'd say setting and plot are both part of the story, along with the characters.

Gods, if you exist at all, keep us from this truly Lovecraftian horror!  :P

Probably recorded... I don't think many SDCC panels have livestreaming. Nerdist is hosting the panel and they usually do a recording.

But any big reveals will surely be online right when they're announced.

I took the survey. I said that I enjoyed virtually everything about Mass Effect 3, but they should bring back more dialogue wheel options, and if they want to focus on exploration, then make it meaningful exploration and not just driving a crappily-controlled vehicle through a barren landscape for 5 minutes to get a sack of metal.

Any idea when exactly this panel will be taking place?

I'd probably be satisfied with a bit of "when and where" regarding the setting, tbh
