The Only Melee build I actually enjoy is the Shadow.

 

I take the power while cloaked evo so I can attack a group by SS'ing the first guy, then HM the guy next to him (before he knows where it's come from!). By this time the low CD I run means I'm ready to cloak and SS again.

 

The way I've written it  sounds dull, but I have great fun with this build.

 

It's not dull, I do the exact same thing.  People who are only using SS and not using heavy melee are missing out on the most fun for the Shadow.  With Martial Artist active, you can OSK most Gold mooks with a cloaked melee, even with the Fire Sword.  And the amount of armor damage you can do with a SS followed by a cloaked HM (because you took bonus power) is ridiculous.  Even without help via debuffs, you can do like 15k armor damage with that combo in like 2 seconds.  Almost enough to take out a Gold Scion or Prime.

Heavy melee is f***d in the game, most classes take far too long, except the mooks who attack you.  Light melee is so sloooow in most cases its useless.   But the Cabal Vanguard and Drell are okay.   Unless you really want to run around meleeing everything in sight, step in Kroguard, stick to ammo, its much faster especially with headshots.

For the time between Heavy Melees, you can fire a Shotgun or Talon, use a Power like Incinerate or Carnage, throw a Grenade like Lift or Inferno, use Light Melee, etc

 

basically just do Heavy Melee, then do something that isn't Heavy Melee, repeat.  Results will vary depending on character
