Pardon me if this has already been asked. I have not posted in ages and I did look through the threads and didn't see this asked already.

I keep watching the demos and it appears we pretty much attack Mages & Templars on sight. Does this mean that we won't be able to take a position on the conflict. Not for example, that I would want to support the evil Mages but is it possible to have a very pro Mage agenda?

Another thing that makes me ask this, in the most recent game play demo, Leliana makes a comment along the lines about how bad Mages are and how "no one should have that power". Yet in the group there was TWO Mages including the Inquisitor yet there was no conversation options to say, "Hey we two mages just saved your life, you ungrateful ******." and BTW (if a Mage was used in DAO) "The Hero of Ferelden was a Mage who saved all of Thedas. So put that in your Chanty bucket and sit on it.." or you know something along those lines.

I guess what I am trying to say I keep hearing about how we are supposed to have all these "choices" but in the demos where there were some obvious places to implement our agenda, we don't get a chance.

- You will be able to bring one of the factions into the Inquisition, I think.

- The mages Leliana was with were not trying to gain power to destroy/reshape the world, she was referring to that power, which the mages she is with are trying to stop as well. She was pointing out that people are scared of mages because they have the potential to reach for the kind of power that no one should ever have.

They said you will be able to resolve the conflict early on in the game in the favor of either side and whatever side you pick will help the Inquisition.

That is why they are demos...

Bioware is playing it smart; they are taking it slow and not being two pump chumps.

Your patience will likely be rewarded in the coming months.

That was what I was looking for. Thank you so much!
