I plan on playing as a mage and I'd love to give my character a really over the top ornate style, with rich colors and jewelry. The clothes would be inspired by the Byzantine Empire:

UGH! I miss this show... such a pity it was cancelled.

And that's exactly what I would not like to have (yes: some ornaments and maybe some symbols (glyphs/runes etc.), but not this over the top stuff that lacks any practical aspect...I would like something someone might really wear on a battlefield...and little more on the plain side...more like jedi-robes...)
greetings LAX
ps: I'd like the option to refuse such styles, thank you ![]()
pps: even my female characters will not wear that (as stated time and again: I don't want a female hero - just a hero who happens to be a girl
as for me, women today are only that extremly different from men, because they are always told that they are different (hell: I know a lot of girls that grew up with a single parent father and who are not girly - more like a man in a woman's body...yes, some differences (apart from the physical) do exist, but they are minor IMHO, it's a rolemodel thing to me...and I tend to like these women (don't like girly girls much...don't hate them, but would not date them either, their handbags, skirts, dresses and IMO extreme make-up would drive me up the wall))

I think it's so interesting seeing the way that clothing chocies can define our characters.
I would personally adore to play a be-ribboned, bejwelled, fullskirts style inquisitor that could whip out her daggers and kill everyone in the room in the span of a few seconds. I adore playing overly girly rogues.
UGH! I miss this show... such a pity it was cancelled.
yeap
clothing wise , I kind of like the idea of getting out of the "work clothes"( ie orlesain ball). I think it is a nice way to make role playing matter a bit more.

I think you in wrong topic. We going to Orlesian ball not battle. And I don't care about realism. Sexy hat ftw.

UGH! I miss this show... such a pity it was cancelled.
I want the option to wear trousers and tunics for those of my female inquisitors who eschew dresses.
Well there's a thing called variety and personal preference so I'm sure there's something for everyone. And that's exactly what I would not like to have (yes: some ornaments and maybe some symbols (glyphs/runes etc.), but not this over the top stuff that lacks any practical aspect...I would like something someone might really wear on a battlefield...and little more on the plain side...more like jedi-robes...)

Hey,
more power to you
- I respect that, but I don't want to be forced into it myself (I prefer the rogue in tight leather armor (like the screenshot from "The Legend of the Seeker" above), that already screams: Touch me - without asking first - and die!)
greetings LAX ![]()
ps: Variety is good - but not forced (I just want to be able to treat my female characters exactly like my males (I hate sexism, like that comment in DA:O at the start: "I am the only one here who is not afraid - and I am a woman!" (paraphrasing, don't want to look it up)...what's so special about gender? - Why does gender need to be taken into consideration? - I treat everybody well (note: yes, I am cranky sometimes, but males and females aren't treated better/worse even then!) and don't have a gender preference (unless it's who I will date, as I am straight (as far as I know at least...have never been attracted to guys))
pps: For me, gender is a non-issue and it doesn't warrant either privileges or bias (!) - Equality (and equal treatment) is what I strive for!
It would be interesting to see how people in the ball, or where ever comment on what you are wearing. Some could love it and others could hate it and if the queen loves it it could become the latest trend.
We have discussed practical attire, gentlemanly wear, and beautiful ballroom gowns, but who would the people respond in the Ball of you went dressed as a Chasind Barbarian from the Fereldan Wildlands?

Hillarious image
(made me laugh so hard)
Particularly, If you are adept in showing your dislike for being at a snobbish orlesian ball in the first place (with a sneer, scoffing at all the finely attired nobles or saying what a waste of money all that stuff is (and that you could equip an army/feed an entire city with their expenses!))
greetings LAX
ps: Going to a ball - while the world goes to hell in a handbasked, reminds me off the band on the Titanic (playing till the end...it's equally tragic IMO - and my Inquisitors have better things to do (unless our "ball" is the victory celebration
)...not that I don't like seeing the ball personally...I hope there's intrigue, murder etc. happening
...It's just that it's kind of stupid celebrating, while everything goes to hell!)
