Your option re: fetch quests is not between that and a quest with context, cinematics, etc.

It is, literally, an additional way to get quests and to interact with NPCs. It is not 'these types of quests or top quality quests!', but rather 'these types of quests or no quests'.

Then I'd honestly choose 'no quests', or at the very least 'no quests like that one'. If something forces me to be out of character and breaks my immersion I'd rather it wasn't there at all, even if the world is slightly more empty.

An emptier world is better than a world where I can't have fun.

On an unrelated note: There was a lot of clipping on character models during the demo. I know this will always happen from time-to-time but it was a bit excessive.

Its not that they want to see her tortured, they just think someone that's just been tortured (And is so angry about it) should look the part, instead she looks ready for a photo shoot.

If they actually cared about Lelianna or any character and didnt want it to see they wouldnt be obsessed with seeing her humiliated
And they wouldnt call her bitchy or foolish or fakingly badass or creator's pet for not breaking
Its just a minor quest. Yetnot enough bondage and suffering is a bad thing, apparently

Does the player have to use the right trigger to engage in the conversation to get the quest? Or is just hearing her out without engaging enough?

RE: Leliana's appearance. That isn't final on that segment, for reasons which include spoilery things.

This is good to know, wish I could look that flawless after being brutally tortured :D

We try to minimize clipping, but your options on that front are - one race/gender model with minimal customization, or lots of customization (including four distinct races) with some clipping.

For the majority of our audience, the latter is a preferable option. Not saying it's the categorically best option, but it's the option we've gone with. Eliminating clipping is also a bugfixing process, not a content complete process, and so anything you see before the game is in a box has a reasonable probability of being fixed.

As for the quest - that's on the 'simpler' end of light quests, but they exist because people enjoy some context to their light quests. Some of them have more context, some of them have about that much.

Its not a minor quest. From what we've seen, its a pretty darn important one. Beneath the hyperbole are valid concerns.

Any kind of torture is a strong psychological shock to a person. Even if includes nothing but a.couple of punches in the face
The whole concept of feeling helpless, taked advantage of and humiliated can leave people broken for lives
So Lelianna has every reason to be pissed off even that dude did nothing but threaten her. Plus mages caused the whole disaster

You dont even have to send Lelianna there. Important quest, but very optional

I once suggested that Iron Bull's eyepatch should randomly change sides throughout the game.

I still stand by that suggestion.

Which then raises a question ? What is the reason to kill the dragons ? They are not doing anything bad. The ones in the demo are nesting in an outskirt / wild area and generally minding their own business. Even the one in DA:O did not attack you at all unless you provoked  / called it using the horn.

Is there any story reason to kill them ? Or is it just honor, glory and powerful materials to make items from ? Just wondering about it. The main big bad in this game is demons so dragons are not our enemy. They are certainly not the purpose the Inquisition is re-founded.

Stop reading right here. How is this question in any way constructive? It could be for a quest, for loot, for xp, for the glory....It's also very possible you aren't forced to do so.

This is fascinating. You are really just reading what you want to be reading. Noone here has some fetish you keep talking about, people are just expressing their concern, that the scene in it's current state is not very believable and might be improved.

Psychological shock is all well and good, but it would still be far more effective as a narrative device if she didn't look like a supermodel that just finished putting on her makeup.

Sending Leliana may be optional, but the quest appears to be very important and non-optional.

I consider an empty world an unfun world, so different strokes for different folks.

One advantage is that it better informs you as to whether or not you feel the game will be worth your time.

Then do not kill the dragons.

You care more about the scene and less about a person getting tortured... it is... sad, really

Well that's a pirate thing though as they wore eyepatches to be able to quickly adjust to the dark below deck., is IB a pirate?

Closing this thread because allegations of fanboys, haters, Witcher talk, and other nonsense doesn't convince me this is a particularly "constructive" thread as I read through it.
