Don't know if all of you have seen/heard the interview between Lady Insanity and David Gaider, but you all should! It was quite informative, both in general Dragon Age lore and information directly regarding Dragon Age Inquisition.

Early one we get significant insight into the Human Inquisitors, the Trevelyan(s).

All of them are Nobles from The Free Marchers. The Mage Inquisitor, however, surrendered his/her nobility when being sent to The Circle. So there goes the great speculation between a Human Mage Inquisitor; they are no longer nobility, nor where they apostates.

I don't think it's been stated where exactly the Peace Conference in the beginning of the game takes place, but it would make a lot of sense if it took place in The Free Marchers. After all, that's where the war officially began with the end of Dragon Age 2. That should make incorporating the Trevelyan Inquisitor easier and more organic. Better than it taking place in Fereldan or Orlais where The Trevelyan Inquisitor is a Free Marcher in a peace conference in Fereldan/Orlais because "reasons."

Yet to be revealed why a Warrior or Rogue Trevelyan is at the Conference, but it can't be too hard to come up with a reason. Incorporating the Mage Trevelyan should be super easy, if they are still part of The Circle by the time the Conference goes on.

I can already see a Mage Trevelyan having unique conversations with our other mage companions, especially Vivenne, considering his past perspective on being a mage, being that he/she was part of the circle. Of course every mage Inquisitor will have a unique perspective of being a mage before the Inquisition, but I'm personally digging the fact that Trevelyan was a circle mage. Just like our beloved Warden(s)!

Also, now that I think more about it, it makes a lot of sense for the Peace Conference to take place in The Free Marchers. Not just in regards to Human Inquisitors, but to the others as well. We know from DA:2 that The Free Marchers have:

-Dalish clans

-A large population of Surface Dwarves

-Qunari, Tal-Vashoth, and Kossith Mercenaries.

Therefore, it should make incorporating the racial Inquisitors a pretty organic process. I just hope the Inquisitor isn't around the area during the breach for some half-baked reason.

What're your thoughts, feelings, and speculations?

Hurrah! Looks like I can continue my tradition of playing a human noble on my first run. And I'm glad we hale from the Free Marches this time around, Ferelden was getting a tad stale.

So obviously the mage won't be able to use their nobility when interacting with people, but I wonder if there's any quests that involve friends of the family that would still be willing to help the un-nobled mage out.

I hope so, it annoyed me that all those ancient books were getting ruined by snow and ice.  Hopefully when we get to walk around talking to people before it kicks off, we can see the place rebuilt, and maybe some of the books get whisked away to be saved.

David Gaider said no such thing. Where did you get this? They specifically said all humans are nobles, just that the Mage went to the circle, but they didn't mention them losing nobility because of that.

We were not in Ferelden anyway.

Mages who are born to noble families outside of Tevinter loose their noble status when they are given to the Circle.

I really dislike the whole "un-nobling" of noble born mages in lore and wish we could see some light cast on that. I find it odd that people simply give up their mage-born kids and move on. Yes, some people fight for it and are subsequently punished, but there is this sense that nobility by and large is happy putting their mage children in circles if it means upholding their own social status. I know that not enough attention has been given to this subject for me to generalize this as such, but I'd just at least like to see former friends and family of the mage inquisitor be supportive of him/her.

Speaking of giving up mage children, I was really disappointed that Wynne's personal quest in Origins revolved around her student rather than her son. I'd have loved to see that. I read that her son is in one of the novels, but since I haven't read them yet I can't comment on whether such a reunion in Origins would have made sense or not.

Hm, and in the same way, it seems that Mages can't be kings.

I think some rearranging is in order! :P

Trevelyan was the name of an English Colonial Administrator stationed in Ireland during the famine, he was responsible for delaying food and monetary aid to starving peasants stating that the famine was "the judgement of God", his name is mentioned in The Fields of Athenry, Ireland's second National Anthem, so that's nice...

Vashoth mages are probably apostate mercenaries.  That's the one background where I don't expect much difference between mage and non-mage.
