Will there be *some* Templars and Mages who get along?

I always thought it was really great how in Origins, despite Templars and Mages pretty much being at each other's throats, Alistair (a Templar) and my Elven Mage were best friends. In fact, I'd go so far to say that my character's friendship with Alistair was the best part of the game... the only problem being, of course, that Alistair never seemed to actually notice that his best friend was a mage at all.

That said, now that the Mage/Templar war is in full swing, I think it'd be silly if Alistair (who is a returning character, IIRC) didn't acknowledge the fact that he's living proof that Mages and Templars don't HAVE to be enemies.

Who's with me?

I would imagine there will be many sets of mage/templar friends, lovers and "frenemies" etc, anything less simply wouldn't be believable.

Just to note: Alistair didn't really like being a templar, hence was glad to leave them for the wardens. He never liked the way makes were treated.

But, I can see cullen being friends with a mage Inquisitor, though he's not a templar anymore either. And he's not the only templar who left when the war started (see Asunder).

I'd imagine that most of the templars still fighting are pretty bitter, but maybe there are some that would be willing to compromise, that would agree to stop fighting after some negotiations on Circle reforms. But then again, some people, mages and templars included, worked pretty hard to remove middle ground. So, we'll see.

Cullen will probably get on well enough with the Mage Inquisitor

A handful managed to get together in Dragon Age 2 before everything went to hell. I'm sure there will be some mage templar cooperation in this title as well.

True. In addition, Cullen would have personally known the Mage Warden, as well as Mage Hawke, who was an Apostate, of all things.
