I'm still in favor of Giggle's Cullen picture because of the coherent style of the cakes. But I don't mind if we choose something else. Has anyone asked Mellora if she wants to contribute? Who else draws besides her and Giggle?

I love little Cullen and of course I love the pic of everyone at Inquisitor table. This cake is going to be just too cute.
Is there a way a pic of the finished cake can be posted to the thread so we can all see what it looks like?

Sorry guys, I have been out to it for the last couple of days. I thought going for a run and sweating my cold out would work wonders and then I got caught in torrential rain--that wasn't supposed to arrive until the afternoon--twenty minutes away from home so now I am even more sick than I was before.
So I guess we are going with cute Cullen by Giggle! I will give her a message and then once we have gotten the finished picture I can email the cake people and get the ball rolling.

Hello!
First world problems with my photoshop today, tablet kept lagging and I couldn't remember what filter I used to colour the original Cullen. xD I had to fix and touch things up because the original is actually quite small. But it's all good now.

Just had that moment of...
"The same people who created and wrote these characters that I drew pictures of are going to eat these characters on a cake"
It's super weird! c__c and awesome

So... when do we want to do this? September 1st is a Monday. Wouldn't it awesome to start the week with a cake?
How long will the bakery need? Or rather, how much in advance do we have to inform them?
Also, do we have to pay in advance or do we pay on delivery? (I mean, what if it the cakes look aweful?)

And I am assuming the letter will be with the cake, yes? Should we start getting that ball rolling as well?

I just wanted to check in that this is all going well? I went away to a convention and then I had a worry that you were going to need something changed on some art and I wasn't around lol

I think Boom or loominousfish could use some help with the paypal account. So, if anyone has any experience with that, I think help would be appreciated

I've sent the email in asking for a quote. I also mentioned that one cake would be vanilla and the other chocolate, both with vanilla buttercream as that seems to be the safest bet when it comes to feeding a crowd. Let me know what you guys think!
They are apparently closed for maintenance for a number of days over the next two weeks. So it could be a while before we can get this rolling.
And one final note, I didn't realize they didn't except paypal as payment. So hopefully by the time we need to pay my credit card is free enough for the bill. :3

I agree that buttercream frosting is safest for a large crowd. (drat, now I have a craving for buttercream frosting) Hopefully, once we get the quote we can submit our monies and get everything started.
Also, did we see if the bakery can email us a picture of the cakes when they are finished? I think it would be great if we could see how they turned out
Thanks for getting the ball rolling with this GiggleLam ![]()

I got a response!
So for a 9x13 it's $100 per cake but a 15% discount because Bioware is a preferred client. There will also be a delivery fee. She told me that one of those cakes feed 20 people. So the two would feed 40. But she suggested depending on how many people we wanted to feed that they can make one large cake with both images.
We cool to say we want to feed around 40-50 people? I have no clue how many people are at that studio. I'll tell her I can let her know for sure by the end of today (it's 9 am here) she also needs to make sure she can print the images I've done.
Ahhh I'm so excited this is happening!

AWESOME!!! I think the size sounds fine. I also like the idea of making it one big cake, rather than two. This IS exciting! ![]()

For whatever it's worth, Boom's comments based on talking to Allan make it sound like there's 100 - 200 people there. Obviously we should only do what we can afford, and that's unlikely to be enough for everyone, but depending on how many of us there are and what each of us is able to contribute it would be nice if we could aim closer to that. (One potential slightly-mitigating factor is that at this point it's likely to hit after 10/7, so some of them might be on vacation.)
How many of us are there again? If there's about 30 and we average about $15, that's enough for about 100 people, and I had been planning to chip in about $20.
250 cupcakes were sent to the DA team for the "CupcakeQuistion" and Allan told me that they were all eaten so me are looking at a large cake/s to be made.
Also, Allan said that the team was "well north of 100" but we are not looking to feed then until they are full, it's more of like an afternoon treat kind of thing for them to have with their coffee/tea.
EDIT: ALSO: There was this price quote from earlier, which seems more cost effective ($220 for 75 servings vs. $170 for 40). Does anyone know if this was the same bakery?
I just got an email!
Let me know thoughts and opinions.
[snip]
Cake:
For a standard chocolate cake with butter cream filling to feed 75 people is $200 -- this is without decoration and I'm just using flavour as an example, it would be the same $$ for all flavors. That is $2.66 per serving.
Printed edible sheets are $20 each and are 8"x10".
