Hi Giggle, thanks for doing this. It's really awesome and I'm very excited that we get things going .

 

I second Owlfruit . We had already talked about the cakes earlier in this thread and I think we decided to order rather three smaller cakes than one big one (one cake with the picture of Cullen, one with the war table pic and one with a flaming templar sword or the Inquisitor's helmet or something like that). Because the team is so big three cakes won't be enough but as Owlfruit said it would be great if we could get as close as possible.

 

Boom contacted Cakes by Candace (me thinks).

Ah! Thank you for linking that information! If there's that many people then getting enough for 100 people would be good. And I do believe there are about 30 people apart of this so it won't be that expensive. We do have to account for delivery as well :3

I'll still wait to email this evening in case someone has something to add.

However you guys decide to do it is fine by me.  I'll be ready w/ the money when it's time in any case.   And btw, Giggle, you're fantastic.

I didn't see that the third cake would have the templar sword/inquisitor helm. Does anyone have a large size image of either of these? Should be around 8x10. I can add it in to the order.

Maybe Gala has an image? I wrote her a direct message on twitter and asked but she just moved and I don't know if she has internet at her new address... We could also ask Allan if he could give us a picture  of the helmet and/or a sword. After all, it's for a good cause . Or would that be weird?

"We can make an 18”x24” full slab cake that will feed 100 people with the edible image on top for $250. Do note that to create an image large enough to cover the surface area, we will piece together several edible sheets to make up the one large image.



Or we can make 2 – 12x18 sheet cakes each with their own image and each cake will feed 50 people for a cost of $140 per cake. This option is a bit more expensive due to separate boards and packaging along with more surface area and materials for decorating."

I'm thinking the second option is best. That way we can have two flavours and both images.

We could order three '12x18 sheet cakes'... That would be enough for 150 people. Three 140 Dollar cakes would cost us 420 Dollar, divided by 30 group members = 14 Dollar for each of us. (We have more group members but I don't know if everybody has replied to Giggle's messages.) We also have to take the delivery fee into account but I think we could afford three cakes.  Is my calculation correct?

We have 29 people who have confirmed that they are in. I don't think there are many that didn't reply. 

I also like the idea of a third cake. But what would the third flavour be? They have a number of flavours

I think we should probably stick to something 'normal' like marble or red velvet. Thoughts?

I like the idea of the third flavor being red velvet; safe but not *too* safe.

The longer we wait the more people will be on vacation. Therefore, I would suggest to send the cake as soon as possible. If the bakery is too occupied I'll settle for mid-October.

 

Never had a Red Velvet cake. I had to google it but it looks yummy and I'm fine with it .

Fine with anything, agree "normal" flavors are probably a good call; my vote would go to the "Metro" chocolate + vanilla + red velvet marble for at least one because it sounds GORGEOUS to look at as well as tasty.

 

EDIT: Especially having now seen that slide in the EGX presentation about the deliberate red, black, and white color scheme for the Inquisition.

Eeeeeh I'm so excited! OK I'll give it a bit more time to see what people think. I think Red velvet seems to be the fav. (Although that Metro chocolate/vanilla/red velvet sounds like a dream) 

And we will ask for October 17th to the be delivery date. So hopefully tomorrow I will have the total cake and delivery cost and I can start spamming everyone with my email!

Send me a message when you will need money, because I'll be away next week, and I'm not sure if I can check the forum there. I understand we need to contribute at least 16 canadian dollars each, right? Preferably more, because there is also the delivery, right?
