Because we know the remaining two will be race-gated, I'm 95-96% sure that it will be Vivienne and Varric.  I'm thinking Viv might be gated for humans and qunari, and Varric for dwarves and elves.

 

My preference would be for Solas over Varric, and I have a hard time explaining why.  Basically, character reasons.  I think I just like Varric's bro-status/unavailability.  Also, super hot for Solas--we rarely get to romance the "intellectual" and I would really like that.  I would appreciate Blackwall from one perspective (we also never get the older gentleman) but I'm not really down with the "Thane effect," which is to say that I don't like the tragic aspect of knowing that he's basically got a shortened time limit on his life.

 

So, my preference:

Vivienne/Solas

Vivienne/Blackwall

Vivienne/Varric

 

I'm not going to bother with the male/male combinations, because I'm pretty sure there's nil chance of that.

 

I think, though, that in order of likelihood, it's

Vivienne/Varric

Vivienne/Solas

Vivienne/Blackwall

 

We'll see.

As it stands right now, LIs are even across the board, 2 for each sexual preference.

Gay Male: Dorian and Iron Bull

Gay Female: Sera and Josephine

Straight Male: Cassandra and Josephine

It seems every other post is stating that we "know" the last two love interests are race-gated. We do not know this, unless it was stated somewhere and the source can be linked to clear the matter up.

That's valid.  We do know (from the Raptr Q&A) that two romances will be race-gated, but it could be that Cassandra, Cullen, Dorian, or Sera are included in that number.  We already know that Bull and Josephine don't care about race.  I think the reason many people think that they "know" that it's the unrevealed romances that are race-gated is because it would be very limiting to race-gate ******- or heterosexual romance options.

 

Additionally, although this is by no means hard-and-fast, it has been indicated that the race-gated options were introduced as a result of the extended development cycle.  Those who have been revealed so far read, to me, as the "core" group of romance options.  It's my feeling that the remaining two will be the ones who were introduced later, and thus it makes sense in my mind that they would be the race-gated ones.

All the core LIs would have only been planned for humans originally, so the race gates effecting them wouldn't be much less likely. Non-human races were also added later.

That's not untrue, but race selection necessarily must have been brought up before race-gating was even considered.  I think race selection as a goal came about much earlier in the development process than deciding that they had the resources to write and animate enough romances to justify making some of them race-exclusive.

 

Again, this is just my feeling, I have no real basis for these assumptions--but as we are all just assuming things at this point, I think they're just as valid as the next person's.

You are totally ignoring why they created the Chart™ and that IronBull was race-gated (resources/technical reasons) until a few weeks/months ago. There weren't 2 race-gated LIs when they made their plan last summer, there were 3. 

 

3 out of 8 means that at least one of the original LI for human only Inquisitor was race-gate. We also know that the Chart was created to make sure every players had choices regardless of races, gender or sexuality. The two LIs they add are not extra, they exist to fill in the gap left by the race-gating of one, two or three of the original LIs.

Its simple, the chances of the last two being the race gated ones have a higher percent rate than the ones that are already gender gated. Ths debate is getting really old to the point its getting boring. No matter how many reasons you guys can come up with to counter each other your going to have to agree sometimes cause two are going to be gated whether you like the reason or not. I agree that the ones already confirmed were the original planned LI's when the Inquisitor was going to be human only (Except for IB) I think IB and the last two were added after they added different races.

 

This is my predictions

 

Its going to be either

 

Vivienne- Bi- Humans only

 

Varric- Bi- Elves, Dwarves Only

 

or

 

Vivienne- Bi- Humans Only

 

Solas- Bi- Humans and Elves Only (Maybe Qunari)

 

I see Dwarves and Qunari getting the shaft in the race gating department

 

 

This would make it equal as far as sexuality goes

Eh... can't say I'm too excited about the race gating now that I've read through this topic a bit... some of these arguments are making me think a straight male elf might only have 1 or 2 choices, and there aren't really that many women to begin with. 

 

Oh well... my unenthusiastic picks for the remaining romances are Vivienne/Solas.  I'm not doing a full list of possibilities because I just don't see any other combinations as being very likely...  These two seem like they'd have the most widespread appeal.  Varric is kind of a niche interest and Blackwall, as cool as he may be, is, human.  IMO it's more likely that they'd pick an elf.

It will be completely stupid for Varric yo be bisexual, it'll just be something shoe-horned in for no worthy reason. This is something I hope Bioware don't do and instead value story consistency and character loyalty over such.

If Varric is straight, I hope he's not a LI at all. (Honestly, he does strike me as straight, so I'm actively hoping he's not a LI at this point)

 

I'm very dedicated to the hope that our last two LIs are both bisexual. 

 

My worst case scenario is Vivienne and Varric, both straight.

Solas I can see being bisexual as with Vivienne though neither couldn't not be straight either. If Solas is confirmed by Bioware first then I'd say we have nothing to do but wait for Vivienne.

They've been alternating between genders, so if a male is confirmed before Vivienne, I'd honestly wonder if she isn't one. But at this point I'm more leaning towards it being Vivienne and Solas, both bisexual. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Vivienne is the next reveal, solo.

Knowing me I'll end up romancing who I never expected. In ME Shepherd was single 'til 3 where I was going to try with Traynor but I really didn't like her and went for Liara instead which was 100xs better. In DA2 it was going to be Anders but them flipped to Merrill and with 'Inquisition' I'm set on Iron Bull but knowing my steak it'll end up being Solas ha.

I agree with that. It would be better to have the two remaining love interests be bisexual, so straight and gay player characters have equal number of choices.

Why, though? I'm sure you know that having had a relationship with the opposite gender doesn't preclude one from being bisexual. If it's about the absence of any relationship or expressed indication of attraction to the same gender in-game, that did not stop Anders and Kaidan.

So I'm not sure how you came to that perception.
