I said this in the Varric thread after Solas got semi-confirmed (and I'm pretty sure that he is an option). I'm looking at the remaining three romance options as a win-win-win situation, at least for me. I'm not going to cry my eyes out because I didn't get my top pick because they are all good. 

 

If Varric's the last one; then me and the Varricmancers get our dwarf. We have been waiting for this since DA2, and I would be very happy. 

If Vivienne is the last one; then I hope that she'll be bisexual. If so then hooray for equality! This would also make me very happy.

If Blackwall is the last one; I'm not going to lie, this is a purely selfish reason. I love dat beard, and this would mean that my quizzys get to snuggle up to it. And I would be very happy. 

 

So for me any speculation is pointless. We will know who the romances are soon enough, and I hope they reveal them sooner rather than later. But in the end, it wont matter. I will be happy no matter what.

Okay, whatever.  I'm just going to point out that the other romance thread got locked, because people kept arguing about the same things over and over again-and it devolved into a nightmare.  So maybe necromancing another romance thread and starting the vicious cycle again might not be the best of ideas?

Actually no, the other thread was closed because people didn't talked about romance anymore and became a giant off-topic mess.

I personally think that if Vivi is a LI that she is either lesbian or bi. I don't think she is straight.

 

Everyone has 2 options already, so there's really no reason the devs should make the rest "fair". It's up in the air at this point.

So far it seems we're just discussing the remaining LI's.. as the title says. As long as it stays clean, I don't see why it should be closed. If the devs don't want us to discuss the game then they should shut down the whole forum.

Yes but the lack of new info just made people repeat the same discussions over and over again in between the off-topic discussions. In the last week or so, the only positive thing we got out of that thread was the Finquisition. And the discussions that got the thread locked were pure nightmare fuel.

It was really bad...I won't even talk about some of the things that were brought up in that thread.  Being off topic wasn't the major problem at all.  I just hope if we really must say the same theories over and over again, we can try to keep it civil. But history suggests otherwise sadly...

Me too, it's all possible. There are arguments to support all of  the remaining possibilities. And I would much rather spend my time thinking about why someone may be a romance instead of why someone should not be a romance. Because discussing negatives is only going to cause people to get upset and hurt. I won't participate in that.

Nope. I 'drug up' this 'old' thread because in the past few days there have been a few developments around the remaining romance options. Namely, the Solas 'semi-confirmation' and the dev confirmation that the last two are not both race-gated. I wanted to discuss it and, apparently so did others, so I discussed it in the appropriate thread which was only a week 'old'. Seems reasonable for a discussion board, no?

On topic, has anyone considered that Solas and Vivienne might have the same sexuality as Cullen and Josephine? This would mean that all of the companions have different sexualities. I'm not sure if that's actually the case, but I was wondering. Plus, if Solas is straight we can finally put the 'all elves are queer' trope to bed.

It'd be pretty unfair if Vivienne was gay, considering that would mean 2 options for straight male Inquisitors. But I suppose I could see it happening

Eh, nothings certain. We don't know. Check out the Varric threads OP if you want to cheer up. Most of the points in the list of why Varric may be a romance are still holding up. So don't panic. 

 

Edit: and that goes to everyone. Calm down and remember that anything is possible until the devs say otherwise. Keep rooting for your preferred option, but don't trash on the others. Stay classy everyone!

Gaider said race gating could apply to known LIs, not just the two unknowns.

I don't have a source, but I remember seeing something about there being another bi male option in addition to IB. This, to me, suggests Solas will be bi.

I'm just worried now that Cullen will be gated against Qunari. A qunari mage was the only character with which I wanted to romance him. My first playthrough in DAI is going to be a qunari mage and I just can't imagine her with anyone else and I don't feel like flying solo. Though most other romances are to my liking one way or another and I can come up with characters that would like to be with them even if I'm not personally into them. Ah well guess I can't have them all...

Cameron Lee said there would be another bisexual male on Raptr chat, but it was before Iron Bull was released. Someone asked if there would be another and he just said "yes", so it's unclear if it was one or more.

The only way Vivienne is not a romance option is if both racegated love interests are male.

I don't care about this at all. 100% of our Tevinter companions have been queer, too. I don't  particularly need a straight Tevinter companion to prove they exist. And I certainly wouldn't want Bioware to revise any piece of their carefully constructed and coherent lore. The Dragon Age setting will fall apart if we ever meet an elf that's solely attracted to members of the opposite gender.

 

Anyway, if Bioware must do the unthinkable and present the audience with a heterosexual elf, I'd prefer it be one I'm not interested in. Cammen can pop up and remind the audience that he's totally straight.

 

As for the other remaining romance, I still feel that Blackwall is the least likely. A few weeks ago, I would have said Vivienne would be the most likely, but now I'm not so sure.

Yeah, went through the Raptr q&a and there's nothing there about two male bisexual LI's, just a simple "Yep" when asked if there was 'a bisexual male companion'. And I didn't see anything when going the Romances thread, but I'm still plucking my way through it.
