I currently play bronze and silver while I am leveling up my Turian Sentinel. I would play gold when I had good weapons and characters but I still need to unlock things. To answer your other question I am Eastern Standard time and I am online anytime after 6:00pm.

Added. I play mostly gold, but like doing silver to level my characters back up after a promotion. Also, I still need to re-learn most classes which requires I play silver.
