I've seen both male and female gamers playing all of the kits.

Although not entirely related to ME3, I will say that I've noticed playing while playing MMOs that not a lot of girls seem to want to play tanking characters.

I see. I've never played MMOs myself so I didn't know that. Maybe being big and bulky, if that's what the characters are like in there as well isn't suited to a girl's image? Personally I've always LOVED boys things and big bulky machines so that's never been an issue. :)

We have several ladies here in BSN and they seem to play a high variety of characters. I have myself two girls in my friendlist who use a lot of different kits. A fun fact by the way is that one of them plays the Juggernaut very often.

Woo. :) So chances are I've even played with some female Juggys and maybe turians as well, that's comforting to know.

People like that are ****** idiots.

Well it was kind of funny in a silly way. :D But I was a bit stumped at first.

Play the kits you like playing. Non-evolved players get muted.

I've played with female players using krogran, turian, etc. (sometimes pink armor, sometimes not), as well as male players using asari, Fury, Shadow, etc. I love spamming biotic combos, so I play asari a lot.

As for the neanderthals you ran into, they are probably unaware of their own fascination with customizing their BroSheps being analogous to accessorizing a Barbie (Armor and Assault Rifles vs. Hand Bags and High Heels)

Barbie for Boys

Ha ha! :) I've never even understood the fascination with pink to be honest. I'm a blue type of person, lol, so most my kits are blue of some hue or another. Not saying that pink doesn't look sweet at times. ;)

Ok, here it comes from another girl. I play GI!  :D

Then there is this thing. I like playing female characters. It feels more...closer(I guess) to me. I started playing ME as Asari Adept, then I moved to Justicar, then I wanted Fury. But as mp grew more and more on me, I widened my horizons and I just wanted to try everything, because it seemed interesting to me and I did. Today I don´t care if the kit is male or female. Each has different aspects I enjoy.

I notice the same trend when I play Warframe, except Warframe didn´t really grow that much on me. I don´t feel the same incentive to try everything, so I admit it, I just play female kits there.

Awesome. I envy you monstrously. I don't know what to do with Infiltrators, lol. I can't stay alive even two seconds with them. On Bronze. :(

And I get you, for most games, if I can choose, I always choose the female character/s. I'm even a huge femme-Shep fangirl on ME but there's something awesome about the Juggernaut and the Turians, sigh. :) Anyway, as long as we enjoy the games we play, right?

Was IllusiveManJr the poster that didn't want BioWare forcing us to use female kits?

Fluffy pink Krogans are fun (not that I know anyone who plays them)

I play female characters a lot and I'm not a girl

I see female gamers playing Vorcha a lot (in silver) and Male Quarians

I'll play along side your pink juggernaut any day.  The point of this game is to play a wide variety of customized character kits and HAVE FUN!  The guy who said that was just a pathetic "pug-head."

To be fair I wasn't saying that women never play tanks, just that I see them playing tanks considerably less often than any other role. Some of the best people I've tanked beside over the years have been women.

Don't worry, I wasn't trying to quarrel. Just sharing a story. It's true that not many chose to tank and I can't blame them. Tanking is boring and if you make a mistake, everyone will be mad at you. A rather stressful role, if you ask me.

Also, if your Worlard isn't pink, you're all doing it wrong.

Nothing wrong with that, is there? I mean ... I'm a woman and I fancy turian crests and carapaces. ;) Oh, and big lumbering geth.

Awesome. Well I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only girl player who plays the 'odd' kits. We did play last week btw, a Glacier game where you did wonders with, I think, a TSent. Good game, I so rarely see other turians around ...

I don't play all the kits but I do play a range of them and they are not exclusively female  <_<  I love the Turians and the Salarian Infiltrator. I play with mostly men but a few women as well and absolutely none of them have made any remarks, suggestions, or posited that we play kits based on genders. Whenever there is a choice IE, if the kit is human, I often pick the female version, bc why not? I sometimes also just take the male because sexy amazing shoulder action

So, in his opinion....

Geth, Turian, Krogan, ... male characters= boys ?

Asari, Shadow, Fury, .... female characters= girls ?

You should've challenged him to 1v1 you with GI Javelins and then put his e-peen to shame.

On a serious note, I know some females that eat food with "boys toys" kits, and I thoroughly enjoy mopping the floor with Asari, Fury, etc.

I don't know about MMOs but the grills I play shooters with are either kickass snipers or kickass pilots... or both. Go figure.

As for the pug you've encountered, this comment summed it up pretty nicely:

People like that are ****** idiots.

Female here. Like Kouzrah, I use the fem version of the vanilla kits, but don't limit myself when it comes to other kits. TSent is my favorite and I'm happy to puggernaut (it's red). I'm pretty sure only my BatSent is pink, though I do have a purple Krogan.

female here (not a grill or a girl -- more like an old lady); Play all the kits but must admit -- female Shepard all the way (Jennifer Hale > Mark Meer)!

I don't really find the gender of whatever kit I play in any game is important.  If it is unique at least.

For SP I played Male Shep but for MP I'm as likely to play a female kit as male it isn't part I consider when choosing.  Though there is much appeal to having to look at an Asari ass for a whole game rather than a Volus one.  On the other hand following the Asari around from a Volus's point of view is even better
