Turian Sentinel is my boy toy. I play with him all the time.

I used to like playing as a Salarian because they're cute and look like me. Buuuut... I did tend to mostly play as an Asari. I don't know why.

Was IllusiveManJr the poster that didn't want BioWare forcing us to use female kits?
Hmm, I don't remember who it was, but I definitely remember that thread.

Somewhat off-topic, but I wish there were male and female versions of every human character, not just the base humans.
Also off-topic, but relevant, I wish there were filters to show/hide characters and weapons in your inventory, so, for example, anyone who doesn't want to see all those extra human characters could hide them away if they so chose. I've often wished I could just filter out volus and other characters I never use and never will use, and only see the characters I want to see in the selection screen. The same goes for weapons. Wouldn't it be great if you could put a filter on to hide the Shuriken or whatever weapon you hate and never have any desire to use, let alone look at?
Incidentally, it would be great if there were filters for matchmaking as well, i.e. no Juggernauts, etc.

I play whatever kit takes my fancy at the time. If I'm after a laugh, it'll be a hot pink Krogan Sentinel, Batarian or any of the Volus characters. The rest I play normally, well except the Geth Infitrator, it's fun to see what guns I can get away with using on it. Only a few of my vanilla human characters are specced the way I like them as I have two different builds on them. So, sometimes it'll be the male's kit I play, others, the female's. Most of the kits I play have male characters, so for me the whole barbies (female kits) for girls and boys toys (male/geth kits) for boys isn't a fun way to play the game. And I pulled the heads off of barbie dolls as a kid... that's when I started getting cars for Christmas and Birthdays. ![]()

I don't really find the gender of whatever kit I play in any game is important. If it is unique at least.
For SP I played Male Shep but for MP I'm as likely to play a female kit as male it isn't part I consider when choosing. Though there is much appeal to having to look at an Asari ass for a whole game rather than a Volus one. On the other hand following the Asari around from a Volus's point of view is even better
looks like lorduzur could use a hand.

But of course! She needs to be fit enough to constantly pick up her teammates.
"On your feet, N7!" and all that.

So would you objectify your Asari teammate even if she's played by a guy?

The objectification is directed towards a character model rather than the person using it, so I would assume the answer is "yes".

You are obviously not playing this game just for the combat! I salute you, sir!

I thought this was a joke thread... or is it? Adine, IMHO, I think the guy was saying that as an awkward way to hit on you. Kinda like "Can I buy you a drink?" or "Hey baby, what's your sign?"

I didn't know you checked out female characters, Pearl. My question was more personally directed at Sabre to be honest, just to know what goes through his perverted mind if one day we play again in the same lobby xD

Well, I assume this thread has covered all bases, so I'll repeat this:
People seem to play all kinds of kits, and I'm shocked you didn't know that, OP.
I'm even more shocked that you would even consider the words of a random stranger to be truth.
It's simply shocking to consider the premise you were given.

*Technically* you could say all the kits are barbies and that the product line's expanded. All the male characters are just Ken and his bros, cousins, and friends. So that dude you were talking to was just playing with a Ken doll...jokes on him.

Society has been trying to even the playing field for so long now it is depressing to see how much backwards, regressive attitudes towards women still persist. I don't get why it seems so prevalent in the gaming world?

I don't remember but Ty I love the Tsent
You probably wouldn't, I know. I just remember since I was blessed by the presence of a BSN:er. I'm Floral Adine on XBL. People call out 'Floral' to me, which sounds like Flora ... which is a margarine brand in my country. Makes me lol every time.
And the TSent is my bread and butter.

So, in his opinion....
Geth, Turian, Krogan, ... male characters= boys ?
Asari, Shadow, Fury, .... female characters= girls ?
I'm not sure that's exactly how he meant it, more that the first three are more macho, you know?
And therefore ill suited to a girl's image.
You should've challenged him to 1v1 you with GI Javelins and then put his e-peen to shame.
On a serious note, I know some females that eat food with "boys toys" kits, and I thoroughly enjoy mopping the floor with Asari, Fury, etc.
Ha ha, I'm afraid I haven't figured Infiltrators out much, I just keep dying when I use them.
But I'm set to start practising Javelin GI so perhaps I'll discover the true wonder of this kit, at very long last.

female here (not a grill or a girl -- more like an old lady); Play all the kits but must admit -- female Shepard all the way (Jennifer Hale > Mark Meer)!
Awww, same, on all accounts. Now what? Should we hold a 1v1 and find out who's the more senior?
Just kidding of course. ![]()

Dobby... Let me put it this way... If salarians really looked like you... Asari definitely wouldn't be considered the sexiest species in the galaxy
