This game is too personal to have multiplayer elements. This game doesn't win by combat, but by individual experience. Multiplayer won't contribute any to that, nor it fits that theme, therefore should be excluded from the triology.

so, **like everybody else** NO.

C'mon doesn't everybody want BioWare to make Mass Effect "Multiplayer Enabled", I mean I think that would be amazing! =D It's really not that difficult, you'd probobly have to choose between Singles or Teams. Singles is self explanatory but if you play team games, you'd have to have Your own Team very similar to Clans on MLG Modern Warfare 2. Each team has his own unique armor right? And whenever you play team games YOU HAVE TO PLAY WITH YOUR OWN TEAM otherwise hit up Singles. The way I see it is...

1. Every player creates a character much like you do in Campaign
2. Only you start by choosing 20 free points to spend
3. You get to choose 3 "Perks" or 3 Talents relating you your class (Push, Pull, Lift for Adept) and personally I think 3 is perfect cuz if you had everyone online with all kind of abilities, it would be chaos.
4. There's ranks and Prestige ranks up to 10 and for eevry prestige rank you gain you get 1 point to spend on yur attributes, cool right.
5. Last, when you activate the right bumper for powers and left bumper for weapons in multiplayer *the game DOES NOT pause*

Yes, this is a lot like Modern Warfare but I really think it would work Image IPB

I lol'd really hard :D

Not at the expense of the single player experience, but I'm not totally opposed to it either. However this was rumored for ME3 on Kotaku the the other week. I'm to lazy however to dig up the link so if you want to read it head there and do a search.

The question really isn't can they do multiplayer, the question usually is which part of the gameplay are you willing to give up because you are adding multiplayer.

Resources meaning developer man hours are a limited resource. Thus,if you add something here then you have to make a cut there. Budgets are finite, and development time is too. A line must be drawn somewhere. You can't just flip a switch and say, "Bam, multiplayer." It is never that simple.

Thus, where would you make the cut in the single player game and actually still have a good single player game? Taking away from the single player just to add a bad multiplayer system is going to mean we end up with a bad game overall.

Best to focus on one aspect and get it right.

For the love of god, everybody calm down. What exactly is so horrible about the prospect of multiplayer? Especially if it would be optional?

I would like this for DLC for ME3.

I agree, if I enjoy ME3's combat enough I'll want to keep playing after the trilogy is over, especially with other players.

That would be a pile of BS. Literally, I'd cover the game with it.

I don't want a multiplayer effect, we don't want a multiplayer effect, even Chuck Norris doesn't want a multiplayer effect.

Accept the facts.

Let me quote Evil Chris.

Mass Effect is a single player game.

Special co-op missions wouldn't be bad, but versus? Not really.

Just IMO, of course.

I remember reading the PCGamer rumour column (so you know, it could easily be a rumour) that co-op might be a possibility in ME3, but I doubt there will be full blown deathmatch.

Not as an add on to the trilogy, if they decide after to make a CoD, Halo, GoW style multiplayer shooter I'm sure it will be fun but you don't tack a multiplayer mode onto a solid single player game and expect either to be very good.
