When will we see the playable demo? Will it have access to the Character Creator?

That... that is heart breaking news, and kind of disturbing.

No playable demo so far. I find them more detrimental to a game than giving it positivity to be honest anyway. They often give players a very wrong impression as to how a game actually is because it's a very small sampling what the game is meant to be. It's really complicated making demos for games that are more open like DAI because you'll likely have to drop artificial barriers around the player which would again give them wrong impressions. I still remember the ME2 demo and thinking how so wrong that demo was in actually showing how good that game was going to be...

Demo's have not really been a thing for a while now, and Demo's of an RPG are hard. ME 3 was an exception since we sort of knew the story's start already, they could show it. Showing the start of Inquisition through is a huge spoiler, that doesn't work as well. Far more useful I think would be a Demo of the character creator that allowed people a week or so before release say, to spend all those hours making their characters, that some spend. That way come release day they can just load up their saved Inquisitor and hop right in;)

If they were to release a demo, I'd like it to include a conversation and a combat encounter that demonstrate how there are many different ways to resolve both - something you could play through more than once, and try a different approach each time.

I derive no value from playable demos.

What I want is detailed mechanical documentation.

The Da2 demo came out febraury 22 and Da2 came out march 8. So if there is one it will be a few weeks before Da;i comes out.

I hope they do release a demo.  I enjoyed both DA2 and ME3 demos.

I think it would be hard to bottle the structure of DA: I into a demo. A CC would be cool though.

Its true Demo's have not been a thing for a while but didn't Mass Effect 2 have one where they showed Shepard "dieing"? I remember it being a pretty big thing and everyone was like "wtf?".

I wouldn't mind a Dragon Age:Inquisition demo but i don't care if we don't get one either.

There are multiple studies suggesting demos hurt sales figures most often.

I'd hope they'd work on fixing bugs, and polishing the actual game, rather than taking time to create a demo.

I wouldn't mind a demo just because the DA2 and ME3 demos were pretty representative of the final released product.

No plans according to Mark.

Which is no surprise. As of the last few years, there has been a steady decline of demos for AAA titles.

I am glad they are not wasting time on any demos. Twitch is the new demo. Go watch someone else play the game and decide then. Still got any doubts wait a year for it the price to drop.

If there is one, it will not be coming out until after the game ships.

The DA2 demo was in no way representative of the game as a whole.

The DA2 demo was exactly what happened in the game in those two scenes.  No it didn't have the recycled areas and enemies falling out the sky, but the combat, the dialogue, everything was exactly like it was in the game.  Which is why I'll never buy the whole it's from an early build, things will change before release argument ever again.

Yeah, demos probably do as much harm as good for a developer anymore.    I honestly walked away from the DA2 demo pondering whether or not to get the game when it was almost guaranteed before I touched it.

They didn't exactly make it clear that the scene was the exaggerated version told by a boastful dwarf.

Still I would love a character creator as a pre-release item.    Making my characters before hand, really hypes me up for release.

Folk will be in Dragon Age Keep, so no need for a demo.
