Hello :).

I've found this survey that asks several questions regarding what we would like to see in the next Mass Effect, like: story, exploration & customaization.

Here it is: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/69HFZTS

Thank you ^__^

I gave exploration a rank of 7, story 6, customisation 5 and combat 2. Anyone else have similar priorities?

I don't remember what I exactly gave, but something like exploration 7ish, story 10, customization 8ish, combat 5-6ish.

I think its all important in this series, but combat and exploration aren't the essentials. I don't just want a big place with lots of nooks and crannies with lots of enemies to shoot in cool ways.... if I can't do it MY way, and it doesn't MATTER (story-wise).

Interesting thoughts, SwobyJ. To me, exploration has always been one of the biggest elements of Mass Effect. Thematically, it complemented the narrative in ME1 and ME2 very well, with Shepard scouring the galaxy for clues and allies. But I think the main reason I find it so important is because, along with the dialogue wheel, it's what makes ME worth being a game series rather than a film trilogy. There's this huge galaxy full of uncharted worlds and strange alien creatures, and I want to step into the shoes of someone in that galaxy and discover it all for myself! But each to their own, of course - I can definitely see why you'd put story first. :)

Well you see that I gave it a 7 - I find it very important, and certainly above combat. I would just find it useless if there wasn't, for example, a good story reason to engage in that exploration, or good options to pick from and things to obtain.

I didn't like the empty UNC missions for their maps. I liked them for the sidequest stories and unique sights at times (Prothian pyramids, Rachni song). Or things like the Moon mission where I got to choose an advanced class.

Ahhh, l see. Yeah, I agree that there needs to be a narrative or gameplay-reward drive for exploration. If all of the worlds were as barren as most of the uncharted worlds in ME1, I would've gone off the series pretty quickly! On another note... "rachni song"? As someone who's meticulously searched every corner of ME1 multiple times, I can't remember ever coming across that. Time to go on a YouTube hunt, I think...

Mass Effect 1 feel>exploration>customization>music>story>interactivity>multiplayer>combat.

Rachni lie under several planets, and you can hear their song at certain points of the uncharted worlds.

Why can't I find this link advertised by the creators on this forum? How did they think people would find this survey? I found it in time to answer it just because I happened to Google "mass effect 4", which I do every once in a while.

You can't find it here because there is no official topic for the next Mass Effect.
