Bioware,

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I really enjoy fleshing out my characters ahead of time, including who they will (if they will have a) romance. I don't tend to enjoy winging it - that's a lot of gameplay/time invested into trial and error. For DA2, apparently you confirmed all the romances at once in one fell swoop.

Can we please confirm the final two, as well as race-gating and gender preferences? Just rip that bandaid off for the bulk of us who would like to sit down with our nerdy little notebooks and sketch player character ideas, relationships, friendships, and personality traits. I wouldn't normally care about who to romance in say a game like Skyrim (which has romance...sorta...) because it's not important to the plot. But with Bioware games, romances tend to affect things like side companion quests, player character socio-emotional development with their significant other (and with the way the rest of the companions react to said significant other), inventory items, achievements, plot points (if your player character plays a huge role in the overall plot - e.g. Anders bombing the chantry), and so forth.

I know not everyone cares. And I know they won't hesitate to post here and tell me how much they don't care about romances. Awesome. Good for you.

But most DA players do care.

So give us the scoop - please? This isn't a demand. Just asking...

patience... they should be revealed soon with plenty of time left before the game comes out. That is assuming they stay at the rate they have with romance reveals.

That's what I'm hoping? I'd hate for them to wait until release, or until a week before release. You know...some attempt to draw out anticipation as a marketing tactic.

I hope they're coming soon. Maybe Friday? It seems like Fridays seem pretty popular for releases.

When it comes to the romance reveals, they won't.  If you don't want to be spoiled, this is more or less your last chance to retreat.  ;)

By there way, there is an open thread already going for this.  Perhaps you should take it there and join with other folks?  Plenty of posters are ready for this to be done and over with as much as you are.  :)

I too like to plan out my characters pre-game. Was very happy when we were told '8 romances', as I had planned on 8 characters (each race/gender combo)

Speaking of romances, do any of you guys remember one of the team members (possibly Gaider himself?) saying in an early interview that we could romance the bad guy? Like a 'forbidden love' deal? Or am I getting confused with 'rival romance' possibilities?

Edit: Just found this line "One interesting romance option that the game is set to offer up is that of a “hate-filled forbidden love” in which players will be able to see a rival as less of a villain to beat and more of a villain to woo and shack up with."
