If a BSNer gets outscored by a PuG, the kit used by the PuG is OP. 

And it matters because: while everyone here acts as if score doesn't matter, deep down they care about score. And everyone here cares about topping the scorecharts, and some like to brag about it. This is in jeopardy when a TGI harrier or a reegar AIU lands in a lobby, and you can't wave your e-peen on BSN. That is the main problem.

No, you got it the other way around. I don't like being waved an e-peen at my face. So I don't enjoy the people who drop in my lobby to show off their scoring abilities, whatever they're playing. I like to play this as a coop game, not being an audience to someone's solo.

People who are really good at this game usually (in my experience) don't run around with OP stuff in pugs.

Lol, I have been outscored a lot of times in pugs. It's not very difficult.

Biovar, please nerf some pugs!   Cuz it's just scandalous to get outscored by one. 

 

OK, if I would take that seriously (I think it wasn't meant that way): I don't think it does have to be an OP kit, because it's about skill- and the player certainly doesn't have to be on the BSN. But I guess I can't judge that much because I'm not as good as many of the people here.   

And after all, being on the BSN doesn't make somebody super elite, it just means you like to talk about a game you enjoy, come here to exchange some tips with others, learn, teach, have fun, (OK, brag about score) etc.... That doesn't however mean there aren't some of the best players around here.

True, waving the e-peen is soooo popular. I can imagine some people would rather bite their tongue out than admit they got outscored by a pug. Silly, silly.

I don't feel guilty for just killing things.  Most of my characters are level 20s and I don't care to restart and I play a lot of silver.  It's mindless fun for me and if other people have a problem with it, they can feel free to leave and join another group.

Honestly that's why we tend to pug with Di. I have awesome friends but 4 spectres in a lobby and it's just a race to find something to shoot at before all life is eradicated from the map.

I play this game for fun. IDNGAS if some BSN person thinks I'm a peon for using a TGI Harrier. Sounds like a personal problem: for them. I'm a very happy scrub. What's going to happen at worst? They kick me? Boo hoo I'll find another game. They leave my lobby? Let me cry a river because some individual is too BSN famous to play in the same game as me. Or they might come on here and complain about how I use all of my missiles during extraction. I'm not afraid. I love my OP kits if you hate the Turin soldier, Salarian Infiltrator, and Human vanilla Adept or TGI don't play with me. The world's smallest violin will be playing.

 

Well said .. I don't even think there'd be a small violin playing. I paid for this game ergo I will play any set-ups available that I feel like. i also play stupidly aggressive (like many players I've encountered)

 

If people aren't happy that you are killing lots of enemies, or they are being outscored, well boohoo. Some kits are easier to do well with; and, as Nightslasher explained rather eloquently, everyone want to score well .. we all look at the scoreboard (even as flawed as the system is ..) It just seems like some good players don't like the thought of easier to use kits which can challenge them (sometimes) on the scoreboard.

 

Also, in my experience, BSNers talk more about playing non-OP set ups, than actually doing it in game. When it comes down to it, there are so many different set-ups in this game which are quite OP in experienced hands. Anyone who uses a Drell Vanguard or Adept regularly, really has no leg to stand on re bitching about OP anything.

 

I don't have much time to play these days, and when I do, I want to use a Drell Vanguard, or a GI Hurricane, or a GT Acolyte, or an Asari Valkryie. Most pugs I find do not mind (although some seem to get upset, but whatever)

 

At the end of the day, this is supposed to be a leisure activity for fun, not serious business ..

I fixed my post. I was being a bit sarcastic with it, based on some of the responses in the thread and some previous topics on BSN.

 

If you really don't care about score, good for you - I applaud that. But you are in the minority. Most people do care about it while pugging, even those that say score doesn't matter on BSN.

As I've said repeatedly 'overpowered' is strictly a definition from person to person.  Some classes and combos on these forums area classified as over powered while the people blasting them use other classes and combos just as over powered. 

 

The term mainly gets used when good bsn players who are used to killing the scoreboard may get passed by a pug using a certain kit and weapon, then that kit and weapon are over powered.
