The Mass Effect universe is vast. You can tell all sorts of stories in the ME universe. Mass Effect is this generation's Star Trek. What are your ideas for stories in the Mass Effect universe? Would you like a storyline that goes deep into detail about intergalactic politics? How about organized crime and corruption of the Terminus systems and Omega? How about the Systems Alliance military fighting off pirates, mercenaries and Batarian Slavers? Would you like a James Bond/Jack Bauer/Jason Bourne secret agent type storyline on Illium or Bekenstein?

To be fair, the Mass Effect for me is my Shepard story. And that has been told already.
It's kind of paradoxical, but I'm sure other people will understand. I love Mass Effect with all my heart, but at the same time I don't want more stories in the trilogy universe beucase Shepard's story is done. And Shepard was that universe.
So I cannot wait to know more about the next Mass Effect, but it should stay far from the original trilogy.

I never got people's obsession with Shepard. I guess it comes down to personal opinion, but I always enjoyed the universe and decision making in the games more than the character Shepard them-self. To me it's kind of like thinking that the entire Dragon age series is about the Blight.

George R.R. Martin says fan fiction is comparable to theft. How do you feel about fan fiction? There is a fan made game called Mass Effect Chronicles. They got the permission of EA to make it.

I don't mean Shepard as the character only, but exactly as this decision making you talked about. The Mass Effect universe is the universe shaped by Shepard, by you. And if it the universe is fantastic by its own right, that power you have over it makes it unique. And that's why I don't like stories that doesn't involve Shepard. It's not because the character it's not there, it's because my hand is not.
