Our PW shows "Reserved String" on the three tabs for Info, News, Rules.

 

Anyone know why this happens and how to fix?

Hey Loki.

On your server in your my docs folder, open nwn2player.ini

 

Do you have these lines?

 

I don't remember if this is all you need.  But hopefully this is it.

 

Then you just put those files on your web site (probably under forum) and point to them.

Yes, have those files.

 

We are seeing the contents, just the tabs at the top say Reserved String

Apparently a long time ago they did show Info, News, Rules in the tabs, but for some reason just stopped and we can't remember what changed at the same time. It could have been at the same time as we had to rebuild the server.

 

Looking at the TLK entries on my local install as well as the server indeed the Strrefs referred to in the XML are "Reserved String".

 

Thing is, changing the XML isn't going to work on the server side, because this is a client side file, it displays when players connect to start downloading... so (and i haven't checked) it won't use any XML we put into the HAKs, because its before the server loads.

Are all you're players seeing this also?

Believe so. I mean, i am and i know some others are.  Nobody has said they are seeing the right strings.
