Stupid question, can you SS a target behind a wall if you're using Geth Scanner?

You can only Shadow Strike them if you see their health/armor/etc bar. I don't think that the Geth Scanner has anything to do with highlighting that, but nevertheless it's the best gear for this character (as many others).

For some reason, the Shadow has innate wall hax where she can get a lock-on on enemies that are behind walls.

Sometimes, yeah, but I'm pretty sure that's because of some glitch in level design or something and not anything that's unique to the Shadow. Other characters can occasionally lock onto enemies through walls too, they just don't have powers to teleport right to them.

This is my current build right now, 6/0/6/6/6. It's a mix of melee and sniping, but it's mainly for sniping while dealing pretty high damaging melee during close quarter combat. It's actually my favorite for her right now. I got tired of the melee build, but here is my melee build. That melee build works much better with a high cooldown since you can pull out a two SSs within a small timeframe while maintaining the 80% damage bonus. The alternative one is this

I would also like to add a "like" to the above.

Currently running a melee build Identical to the above.  I use the Scimitar with Omniblade and HVB for a +100% CD and cloak/SS/HM spamming.

It's a great fun build, but you'll need at least AP Ammo III if you want to take down a Gold Atlas in less than an hour  :D

To hit a group of 3 mooks:

Cloak - SS first mook (make sure you take the fire one power while cloaked evo), SS second mook, Heavy Melee the third.

And when the Phantoms come out it's play time (just don't let them see you before you cloak - you might get a nasty surprise!).

With Hydraulic joints and Strength Gear III you can also one shot a turret, so you can see it makes a great kit v Cerberus (Just leave the Atlas to other players  :( ).

Curious anyone try it with bat gaunt? Character builders show pretty big boost in dmg.

I have but not extensively. Wondering if it effects SS damage which it should since it boosts base melee. It also might glitch the evo 6 of melee. I haven't tested DR after SS with it, damage differences versus enemies. Admittedly I believe I was smashed when the idea occurred to me.

I doubt it adds to the power since melee and SS have separate base values and the gauntlet is supposed to replace the vanilla melee.

But a flaming bat gauntlet? That sounds interesting.

Sort-of related question that your post made me think of:  What happens if you put a Batarian Gauntlet on a Paladin?  Does it replace the shield bash?  Can you prime enemies for fire explosions with your fist?  I've never tried it, but I assume someone has.

I think heavy melee and all specific defense modifiers are lost IE Quarians omnitool slash has certain modifiers against defenses that aren't retained unless you cancel the Bat Gauntlet animation. The light melee should retain original mechanics, heavy melee retains original mechanics if you cancel the bat gauntlet animation but it can also decapitate enemies. Someone could post a vid of the phenomenon I'm too lazy.   No idea on DR if you sprint cancel or melee flurry into the original HM.

With  Batfist Krogans you can use LM HM and Batfist but you need to be running  forward when you engage HM if you want the Krogans HM. I would think that with other characters it may be similar.

Stand still to use Batfist .

Move/run  in a direction just before using HM to engage the characters own  HM

Maybe it's when you have enough weapon piercing to make that enemy targetable with your weapon through the wall?

Mmmm rediscovered the joy of the shadow. Had spec'd out of SS now I see the error of my ways. Helps I'm not as scrubby as I use to be as well. Getting much joy out of specifically chasing down phantoms and other bosses with impunity.

Thanks -  I think I understand what you're describing.  I guess I should probably give it a try myself instead of expecting others to do the work for me.

I did some messing with it the other night with one point in SS and cloak. Without any gear/equipment/melee specced etc, basic SS will do nine bars of damage versus a basic silver Cerberus Trooper. With Bat Gauntlet, SS does the same amount of damage in bars(it could theoretically be stronger than base but I doubt it). With Hydraulic Joints a cloaked SS will OHK any silver basic Cerb Trooper. Now the base damage modifier on melee is lower for the bat Gauntlet than the Hydraulic Joints so theoretically SS could still be buffed but not in the area of enough to OHK, I can't test extensively enough because lolconsole. I still don't think that is the case because engineering kit with the above spec will OHK a basic trooper as well.

So TLDR summary is there maybe some small benefit to Bat Guantlet to SS, I don't believe there is from what I've seen I think SS is independent of the damage modifer of Bat Gauntlet. Hydraulic Joints is the superior choice if you're just stacking up melee to max damage anyways there. Also if you put on Bat Gauntlet you lose the ability to gib multiple heads off enemies unless you sprint cancel. Pretty much Bat Gauntlet makes no sense on the kit outside of lulz.

Yeah, it doesn't add anything to the Shadow Strike damage, and plus, I think it's pretty useless on the Shadow since the gauntlet would only underpower her attacks. You could decapitate an abomination or a husk with it, but the heavy melee of the Shadow's is still much faster, a wider radius, and more efficient.

I use the sniping build as well.  However, I also carry the Acolyte with Power Mag and Melee Stunner.  When I see a Phantom, I'll switch over to the Acolyte before I SS (actually in general, I'll change my weapon to get the most out of SS).  I never cared for that kit until I tried this build.  Don't get me wrong, ES is a good power, I'm just not a fan of it.
