It looks as if Dorian's mustache cannot be twirled and in my opinion, that's a very big missed opportunity on Bioware's part.
Can you imagine a scene where he appears out of the shadows twirling his mustache with a sly grin on his face as he watches on as the Inquisitor and his/her party advance forward unaware that they're being watched? It'll be a perfect build up to his character.
I'll be disappointed really if he can't/doesn't twirl his mustache at least once.

Please, don't you know that mustache twirling gets unnecessary hand oils and dirt in the mustache that can dry out the hairs and clog the pores. To properly maintain the shape of a mustache one should use a non-damaging mustache wax working into the hairs with clean hands.

There can be both but there also needs to be a scene with him doing it. Perhaps as you're beating some idiot senseless for information, he'll be in the background twirling his 'stache and saying stuff like "dashing" "marvelous" etc.
Again, given Bioware's subtle humor that they often inject into scenes, this would seem like a missed opportunity.
And you guys know me. I hate mages but if it's confirmed that Dorian can (and will) twirl his mustache, then he's in my anti-mage party, first playthrough, I don't care.
It'd be funny if each companion has an idle animation preset. Like in Mass Effect when we kind of just stood there for a while, and someone adjusts a stiff neck and smacks blood back into their legs.
In which case, I could totally see Dorian twirling his mustache in that scene.
