My thought? "Meh."...really, my Warden/Hawke had better things to do...as will my Inquisitor. Not going to deny anyone else their fun - can't fathom what's fun with it, but that's the thing about people, we like different things - but I will probably not care about its inclusion.

In contrast to the Witcher series I don't think Dragon Age needs one. The Dragon Age World und Games have a much brighter mood and atmosphere than the Witcher world anf games. (Dragon Age reminds me more of Lord of the Rings with a bit Disney while Witcher is more like Game of Thrones with more magic).
Even if there would be one in Inquisition I don't think Bioware would manage to do it the right way, That's why i would prefer if they don't do it at all.

I second this. And I'm European, for the Record. Aversion to needless Inclusion of Sex Scenes is not just an american Thing.
I can also go without a Brothel in the Game. Never used any Option there and avoided these Places like the Plague in the previous Games. Pubs are okay, though.
Brothels (even if not used by the player) should be included even if they can't be used by the PC. They are part of the DA world and add to the atmosphere. Removing a brothel would just say "we're scared of offending people."
I would prefer a reason to visit the brothel however. Perhaps using a brothel leads to you getting drugged and waking up kidnapped in one of your enemy's dungeons leading to a quest to escape. You are the Inquisitor after-all so there should be people after you.
That type of quest could occur when a enemy learned of your visits there and bribed one of the prostitutes to cut you with a poison knife (or something) to put you to sleep.
But I'm like you too and never use these places either. As another said, they just lead to a fade to black scene and a waste of coin. There's nothing gained and no quests unlocked from any of it either.

This is just a question, Feybard, and I'm not trying to be condescending or anything, just genuinely interested.
Do you capitalize all nouns in your sentences because you're a native German speaker? I could see how that would be a difficult habit to break. I took a bit of German, and had a hard time grappling with the idea that all nouns need to be capitalized.

In LadyInsanity's interview with David Gaider, he mentioned that there will be pubs which you can frequent and grab a pint with your companions.
This is the best news I've heard all week.

I doubt Cassandra would approve of spending the budget like that......
But I do like the sound of a tavern where we can have a drink with our companions!

Meh. I'm kind of indifferent about including nudity and full on sex scenes in game. If I wanted to look at porn, there is no shortage of it on the internet. I like the way Dragon Age treats the whole thing with a sense of humor.
That being said, I do think it's kind of ridiculous that we Americans treat sex like it's more offensive and taboo than murder ... God forbid you see someone's nipple, you might go blind!
Chalk that up to America still clinging to its puritanical roots. Europe had its Enlightenment. We, unfortunately, are still waiting for ours.
Comparably Europe especially Germany is much stricter concerning Brutality, Witcher 2 actually got a 16+ rating here while Mass Effect 3 had to be censored to reach 16+

You hit the Nail on the Head. I tried to write with proper english Capitalization Rules, but I'd cringe every Time I'd have to post that. It just looks... wrong in my Eyes.

BioWare's approach to sex (going back to Baldur's Gate) has been more comic/bawdy than graphic.
Though such a whimsical approach can undermine the romance.
There is no need to wave everything in the viewer's face but ME3's showering in underwear was a little silly
and if DAI has some boudoir action I trust it would be tastefully edited but authentic.
Outside of the romances, if there is a brothel appropriate to the plot then it can safely retain the comic/bawdyness of prior games.

If you want a RPG game that treats you like an adult when it comes to things like sex and prostitution, Witcher is the way to go. In the Wild Hunt E3 demo, they showed parts of Novigard and they had an entire district dedicated to brothels.
Treats you like an adult =/= shows you a lot of naked women.

It's a fantasy game involving warriors, elves, dwarves, and all manner of exotica, so I truly fail to see why anyone would even play this type of RPG and then act like a prude over a little nudity, (particularly when it is mostly implied and/or obscured in often creative ways)???? And seriously, copious amounts of physical violence, bloodletting mayhem, and murder-death-kill AND naked people getting their groove on is the objectionable part - - -grow up!!
No matter how I play an individual lead character, given the threats that they face, a little lust for life seems more than appropriate. Also those moments when a party member can participate really adds additional spice in my mind.
Now, if only Bioware would get some Red Sonja type female warriors into these games, well, without that characters reticence for rolling in the hay. That would be fabulous!
(Psst: Those Witcher 2 sex scenes were quite spectacular weren't they?)

Really? I've always seen DA as far more like GoT, than Lord of the Rings, to be honest. Mainly due to how doomed every religion in the game makes the world out to be, (and are all centered around how their gods have abandoned them) how merciless the world is, and the gruesome nature of the darkspawn; and the doomed existence of the Grey Wardens.
Haven't played nearly enough of the Witcher to get a good feel for what it's like. (If I were to give an impression now, it reminds me more of Hercules the Legendary Journey, but with random GoT styled sex scenes, and torture scenes. :\) I'm sure it's a great game - I just haven't really gotten into it just yet.
However, on to the question at hand - really don't mind the brothels in the DA series. They're a rather nice touch, though not necessary. Would still love to see them in the game - if only to know they're there for whoever wants to use them.
And yeah, I agree with a couple people on here - you really don't need to show any nudity to get the point across.

I want to see boobs! Lots of them!
Sadly, all we'll get is some ugly girls fully clothed again.
How did I know you would be here Dobby?

DA has alot of joke in it to lighten the mood. But most of the time it's dark as heck.

The blooming rose however was quite atrocious in my opinion. Despite being in a large building in High Town, it was disgusting, dirty, and had whores unprofessionally skimping about customers having drinks and conversations. How unprofessional. Not to mention how uncomfortable it was to be hit on by a transvestite. I understand that's a controversial subject, but I'm not gonna pretend it wasn't super uncomfortable. F**k the blooming rose.
If brothels return, I'd prefer they be subtle and appropriate like the Peral in Origins.

Or maybe it would say "We're going to try to be original instead of using the same locations you find in every generic fantasy game ever."
How about a gaming parlor?
A play or opera house?
A horse race?
A gladiatorial arena?
A bath and/or hot spring?
How about a carnival?
How about a salon? We're in Orlais.
How about hanging gardens?
How about a conservatory?
A dance parlor?
A menagerie?
Or, you know... you could have a brothel which has exactly the same content as every other game in the series. I can't wait to hear another joke about ****ing a nug, or a dwarf, or a she-male qunari. Maybe someone will make masturbatory gestures while having a funny face.

Based one your description of the two games, Dragon Age comes off as kiddy and light. If I knew nothing about both games but had to make a decision to buy one, I would go with The Witcher since it has a more mature vibe.
