Sorry if this has been asked before, in advance.
Do any of you think that approval/friendship/rivalry from all companions (including Awakening) from previous games will matter in DA:I for cameos and stuff? For example, the Inquisitor asking Varric their opinion on Hawke, or something.
I know in DA2 it didn't matter, but it MIGHT in DA:I...maybe. I'm curious nonetheless.
Trying to make the 'perfect' playthrough for all games and DLC is stressful
. Getting an answer will (hopefully) let me enjoy the games without having to find every single gift item and trying to find the highest approval paths in conversations. ![]()
I've already done every single side quest in Origins (which was a right pain the left buttcheek!!) just to make sure I had that 'completion' feeling. And I'll tell you what -- those Feastday Gifts were a huuuuge blessing!
It's mainly Awakening I'm more concerned about...I want to save Ameranthine (for the first time
), but I hear it's bugged so that even if you upgrade the Keep to the max, it still falls. This means that if I get maximum approval from all companions, it'll be a waste of time, because those left behind will die.
Getting maximum friendship/rivalry in DA2 wasn't that hard, it's just too bad it wasn't part of my 'perfect' playthrough.
I'm a sucker for even the smallest of cameos, and if there is even the slightest chance that, say, Sigrun appears and talks about nice/mean the Warden was, I NEED to see it! ![]()
Quick question...

This is a really good question! I don't know. I hope so.

I don't think it matters if old saves have bugged plot flags. You import your worldstate from the Keep in inquisition. You don't need to create "perfect" playthroughs. You can create a worldstate where Amaranthine is saved and everyone lives in the Keep even if that's actually bugged in Awakening.

Until I find out how much detail the Keep goes into (such as all the sidequests -- they mattered in ME3 so they might be important in DA:I, who knows!
) I'm going to try and have a save file ready to be imported
just in case!

ME3 is s different story. It was Shepard's past relationships, so of course they were important.
These people, however, have never met the Inquisitor.
I am not saying that they will definitely be of no significance. Just that ME3 isn't something that can support this theory.

They might never have met but the world state could still have changed ![]()

True. I just don't think DAI and ME3 are comparable this way because even if friendship has an effect in both, it won't have the same type. In that way you can't compare them.

Your actual DAO/DA2 save file will be irrelevant, the world state will be done in the Keep.

Maybe hardened/unhardened Leliana?
This is what I hope to see as well.

As I recall Leliana's hardening was down to a few less than clear dialogue choices. Surely that will not have a sustained impact after 10 years.
To be honest it looks like 10 years down the line she is hardened whether we had a hand in it or not.
