Maybe it goes without saying that there will be spoilers in this thread, but the game's also been out for years, so.

 

I've heard that if you avoid completing The Unbidden Rescue whatsoever, Saemus will survive to Act III. I haven't seen any footage of this, nor even a description on the wiki entries for him and for the quest. A while back I started a playthrough where I intended to see for myself what'd happen but haven't gotten around to beating it.

 

Does he survive? Does Petrice kill someone else? How does that scene play out? Anyone know?

Seamus cannot survive past Act II, because his murder is plot-relevant.

But is that something you saw firsthand during a playthrough, or speculation? Even if he is still killed, I'm interested to hear what Petrice and Hawke have to say if Hawke's had no personal interaction with Saemus.

If Hawke never encounter Seamus in act 1, Seamus will assume Hawke is another Qunari hating mercenary. Other than that nothing else changes.
