In DA2 I recall it could still happen if you broke up with one person and started a romance with another, though.

Yes, you can only romance 1 person in ME as well, but they all have jealous conversations.

Hm... maybe, unless you miss your chance to start a romance early on and cant start it later.

I always loved jealousy Talk.

And I only know it from these wonderful YouTube Videos of the sort of "complete Party Banter". Never had one ingame, although Anders and Fenris, the latter romanced, came close.  I'm just too faithful for that to happen.

 

But generally speaking, I'd like Romances or otherwise important Relationships to be referenced like in the other Dragon Age Games.

Not in DA2. If you were friends with Anders and you romanced Fenris, you could tell by the dialogue that Anders clearly had a crush on you. He and Fenris even argue over you, Anders saying that Fenris doesn't deserve you and Fenris telling him to STFU.

 

True. I think Anders was meant to be a character who always had a thing for Hawke, no matter the situation. But I could swear I saw a banter once on youtube where Anders and Fenris said something along the lines of being glad Hawke broke up with one of them, and they made the right choice going to the other one? Maybe I'm mixing it up with something else.

Speaking of jealous banter, how could anyone forget Morrigan and Leliana ? The catfights are epic. Sometimes my Warden would just purposefully fool around with both of them because the results are hilarious.

Who can forget those catfights? Somebody actually made cutscene versions of those and several other banters. Let's see if I can find them...

I can't say I'm fond of this sort of thing.

I suppose it makes sense and it's not like all content should be geared to me, but I hope the catty conversations are kept to characters who'd treat themselves that way.
