I don't mind jealous dialogue, but I haaate the Morrigan/Leliana cat fights.

I've never understood why when two girls find out they're dating the same guy, they hate eachother instead of him, and I hate to see that mindset propagated in media. If you're stringing along two women, they should be mad at YOU, cuz YOU'RE the jerk. :/

On that note, I'd LOVE that if you are trying to romance two people, if they find out, they both dump you, hahah.   :)

I also don't get it , it's like the dude is somekind of innocent victim who fell into some kind of trap.

As far as I know the only one betraying anyone is the Warden .

Wait why are so many people talking about cheating? Doesn't most of this dialogue show up mostly if you dumped one person for another? No cheating there, just serial monogamy. I mean usually when a relationship gets serious enough being with someone else would be considered cheating the characters force you to pick between them, thus preventing cheating.

I dislike this for two reasons:

1) Leliana accused me of being in a relationship with Alistiar and Zevran when I didn't realize I'd hit the relationship toggle. I had sex with Zevran *before* romancing Leliana and told him it was a fling, she acted as though I'd started a relationship with her and then cheated. I didn't know I'd wandered down the relationship road with Alister until he gave me a rose and by then it was too late: Leliana decided I was courting him.

If she'd just dumped me, it would have been massively unfair.

2) I don't believe in compulsory monogamy. If someone wants a monogamous relationship then they need to express that to me, not arbitrarily decide that since we've had sex once I'm theirs.

My vagina is not my girlfriend's property. The ASSUMPTION of exclusive access angers me.

I STILL cant believe Bioware decided that the only LI who cheats is the black guy who gets another chick preggers while your shepard is in lock up for a couple months.

Yeah, I have to wonder about the thought processes that went into that decision, especially since that aside from that rather unfortunate "pattern", it adds to the terrible imbalance between male and female Shepard in that franchise. Imagine the rage from fans if, say, Miranda did the same thing? No doubt a small town could be powered off of its energy.

Jacob was incredibly unpopular to begin with too, lol.

I mean I'm not exactly a "PC" person but the 1st time I saw that on youtube.... Holy racist bioware batman!

The ASSUMPTION of exclusive access angers me.

I think it's generally safe to assume exclusivity in relationships like these. Monogamy is the norm, and as such, it's not exactly "angering" to imagine some people would like their LIs to want to be exclusive.

I mean, yeah, forcing characters to dump you if you flirt with others can be bad, but I don't think every character should be a polygamist, and it'd be sensible that some characters would get angry over it. Not everyone approves of polygamy in reality, either.

I will judge you... but only a little. ;)

It shows a side of the character you might not always see. I adore Leliana and her romance, but I've never seen her act catty and insecure. Her arguments with Morrigan (and I think Zevran?) provide me with an insight on who she is that I don't really get any other way.

And it's an ego thing. I can totally see the appeal of two beautiful women competing for you. Interestingly enough, this is one of the few times the focus is on the PC. In the majority of conversations, it's all about the companions. It's amazing how few banters or dialogues seem to acknowledge your existence.

As long as the judgement isn't too harsh!

I admit jealousy is an emotion I find fascinating, but difficult to understand or tolerate on any relationship level.Your answer makes a lot of sense from a gameplay perspective, though. So, thank you for answering. I think the most jealous I have ever been is seeing someone with a pair of shoes I wish I had, but that's more envy than jealousy, I suppose.

I remember when Fenris got up in Zevran's grill in DA2. It was kind of awkward, tbh. lol As I said earlier though, I think it's just a "me" issue, rather than a game issue.

My condolences for his fans. When I first played ME3 I didn't romance him and honestly thought this was something that happened only if you don't romance him I was angered to learn that was not the case it was a terrible way to handle his character regardless if he was popular or not.

I don't want to all characters to be a polygamist. I want them to say 'I would like it if you didn't have sex with other people. Are you okay with that?' At which point the player can say 'yes' or end the relationship.

That's exactly what Morrigan does in the conversation linked earlier.

My response was to the idea that if you're flirting with two different companions, they'll just both autodump you. In the real world, I can have conversations about this when I start dating someone. In BioWare games, I'm at the mercy of the writer's assumptions.

But if they want monogamous and you want polyamorous, they'd dump you anyway because the relationship they want is not the one you have to offer, so it all works out.

Your first point is more an issue of how the game raises the romance flag.

I never said anything about wanting polyamorous relationships.

I said I hate the assumption that having sex with someone once grants them exclusive access to my body.

Cause people like me still buy it out of instinct then wonder how it ended up in our home days later.

Well, in the context of the game where you romance two companions at the same time, it goes into polyamory territory, so the LI is in their right to call you for it, if not ending the relationship altogether if you try to have your cake and eat it too.

This is only true if you believe in compulsory monogamy.

My sleeping with someone does not mean we're in a relationship. My being in a relationship does not mean I will sleep with no one else.

It's fine for an LI to equate sex with romance and want a romance to be monogamous. They actually have to express this though, it is not a default. By having two LIs autodump you because you've flirted with both, you're making monogamy compulsory.

It's an attitude that assumes people can have ownership over other's bodies and I don't like it.

Whoa when did Archie get serious?

Yup, and it's not one of those magical situations where he recovers from the wound. He's actually died in that issue. It gets pretty serious with the new comics. There were characters' deaths, and he was shot to protect a friend, who is a senator that wants more gun control. R.I.P. Archie.  :crying:

Still don't see how it's a problem, because if the LI doesn't want you to flirt, and you do, then they're better off outside of the relationship.

At most it's a communication problem, but the end result would be the same.

Romances are like a box of chocolates, I enjoy taking a nibble out of everything that's on offer.

Is it my fault that BioWare makes them so delicious? I think BioWare should take some responsibility in this matter.

To be honest s/he is it is very easy in dao to end with someone as Li simple because you were nice at least when you play first time.

Hopefully it will be like DA:O where you could bang multiple people and still

return to your LI
