To be honest, if any of the mages go social crusader like Anders it's gonna be Dorian. His whole Tevinter Imperium background and breaking away from it tells me this.

More of a reformer, Gaider said he believes his homeland has redeeming features so I don't think he'll charge down that route the way Anders did.

 

Though if any of the companions do, I may have to introduce them to my murder knife.

So far didnt see much of Solas play , So I pick Dorian. I think Viviene kinda worst from all of them..

I dunno. I play more often without mages than with them, though I did try having each one in a full play through at least once a piece - some more than others after that. Usually I play with a team of rogues and warriors so I have little preference on mages. Until I get to know them I'm not sure who I'll select to bring along. I liked how Morrigan evolved in DAO and if Viv's story is anything like that, I know I'll want I have her along. However, I suspect if I were given to having mages in my party, that Dorian will be selected more frequently. I like a certain camaraderie with the adventurers in my party and I get the sense that Dorian is fun as well as powerful.

I've never been one to play mages, and while Morrigan went with me everywhere in Origins(and sometimes Wynne with her as well), in DA2 I usually went with an all rogue party or integrated warriors with the rogues, leaving Merrill and Anders at home.

 

But if I'm gonna play an Elsaquisitor, y'know. I think I can handle it. We'll see.

Eh... I don't know anything about these characters, so I'll say all of them at some point.  Really cool designs for all of them, though...  I wonder if 4 mages would be viable?

I thought I'd do a tally and see who came out on too, I only included those who gave a firm answer to one character, those who said two or more or said they intended to rotate I excluded.

So here are the mages results:

Solas 30 picks 40.5%
Dorian 26 picks 35.1%
Vivienne 18 picks 24.3%

So what do people think? Expected or surprised?

Dorian I think, I find Tevinter and it's lore interesting in general.  Solas I know nothing about, other than he has pointy ears.  Vivienne just looks like a clown, and she seems like a ******, I most likely won't even bother recruiting her if given the choice.  I plan on playing a KE though, so I may end not using any of them, depending on how the healing ends up working.
