If PUGing on Platinum, AIU/TGI/Juggernaut/Flamer/Paladin/GI should be used to assist in success.

When we play video games, we often don't have all the time in the world to play them. Some of us have jobs, schooling, classes, activities, and the such preventing us from spending the amount of time needed to achieve the ME3MP version of nirvana and max challenges, manifest, and pride.

As such, in PUGs, consider them not to be beneath you, but to be fellow wonderful people in a rush to achieve this, much like you if you already have not achieved the maxed manifest. Unless you garner hatred for your fellow players, then it would be assumed that you at least care somewhat for these other players in that you may at least attempt to revive them.

But why stop there? If one's playing in a public game, it is likely that the other player's friends are not available, and as such those players you call PUGs are indeed uncomfortable. To rectify this and stay abreast of the situation, it is necessary to speed up the game for them, allowing them to earn more extrinsic rewards, increasing excitement for everyone involved

How does one speed this up? Simple. By playing the kits given as examples or other overpowered kits with ultra-rares and high level equipment, you can make a difference in making PUGing less of a pain. You can bring that warm smile to that one player who wiped the last 3 games they tried, and eventually they'll get credits and repeat the process allowing more players to be helped, cherished, and prepared to do what it takes to help others.

That's why I personally like seeing overpowered kits. They help so much that the game becomes less pressured to succeed and more fun can be had in a carefree environment as everyone benefits from making the enemies dead.

So please, ladies and gentlemen, when PUGing play these kits only. If you really don't want to, please allow these kits to play with you and develop their own habits as they see fit and stop kicking them based on their choice of kit. That just promotes a negative environment, which certainly will not reflect well on the community as a whole.

It's just a great idea to make the RNG easier on the new players, so they won't feel as daunted as long as you keep getting them the credits quickly.

It's all for the greater good.

I prefer SI CSR for pug'ing Plat. It's definitely top tier.

I've got nothing against OP kits.

I've even taken a level 20 into bronze with level III and IV consumables, and I used all 6 missiles.  It started as a bit of an arms race in the lobby with another player.

It's only fine if pug can actually use them right but pug is heartless and most of the time useless.

Unless you garner hatred for your fellow players...

This is where my problem lies...

Honestly, I have no problem using any of the kits you mentioned, particularly the TGI, the Paladin and GI on platinum, but it does get to the point where you think meh and stop caring about guaranteeing extraction. The same goes for reviving players. If they really want the credits, then they should contribute or just be happy with their wave 6 money, because I'm no longer in tryhard mode in this game when I'm pugging. If they want to be helped, play silver and gold until they get comfortable at that level and then move up to platinum.

Talking about time constraints is the same in all walks of life. If you don't put the hours into this game (or anything you want to be good at), you'll never reach your full potential. That's just the hard facts of life and I'm pretty sure that if people have too much going on in their lives that they can't sink hundreds of hours into a game, then they really have more important things to worry about than extraction.  ;)

I agree. If you bring a kit+setup that cannot one-shot phantoms, you are dead weight and deserve to be kicked.

As I stated once in other thread, there is no such thing as an OP kit (setup) in the game, there're are 'OP' players that will top score with any kit. That's because if you give a man a challenge or a job to do with certain equipment, even if the job seems impossible or the equipment too weak, if that man (lady) is keen on getting it done, he/she will find a way (adapt) and overcome.

Cerberus is right. Humanity is no. 1 in the galaxy, there's nothing we can't achieve once we set our minds to it

I do it for weapon challenges, TGI/Harrier or AIU/Reegar on Plat = 100% challenge complete from scratch for that weapon after only one match :P

Why not? I was using him last night for a match (PUG) or two on Gold.

Trying to finish Machine Mastery, Hex Shield, Siege Pulse points. Plus I was using the M-11 Surpressor for Pistol Points.

So while I was having fun rockin' the Juggy I was putting a dent in some Challenges.

I don't use him that often, but he can be fun to play.

When I made this thread, I knew this might be unpopular. But deep down I knew that as those who play the most, have the most guns, equipment, capacity upgrades, gear, and kits had a distinct advantage.

They owe it to the newer players to do everything to help out their fellow players, just as other players helped them once.

We need to serve those that cannot serve themselves so that they will serve the next wave of players. By doing this, we will continue to facilitate a strong sense of community as well as the longevity of this game.

Let me tell you the story of a PUC called *xX1TzMLGN0xscOp35Xx. Relatively decent example of a human being. Played and played and played, all trying to get the edge needed to tackle the more difficult areas of the multiplayer, but they never got that TGI or Harrier. In the end, they gave up on the multiplayer, thinking that it was an exercise in frustration. That's a pretty massive failure of community support. We can't help everyone, but we can sure try to reduce players leaving the game out of despair by helping them. There's no reason why we shouldn't go to any length to better ourselves as a community and promote goodwill, especially by taking the time to play and promote the use of these kits for public matches.

So let me ask you this, if xX1TzMLGN0xscOp35Xx was in your lobby, how far would you be willing to go?

I wouldn't call the thread unpopular, but the BF has been really dead this past week, even by new BSN standards...  :?

To answer your question, if that person was my friend and he/she was a good, genuine person who's fun to play with, I'm more than happy to do what I can to help them get used to the game. I've done it a few times now. But if I don't know them, honestly, I feel like I have no obligation to help them out. I've got better things to do.

Edit: I'm doing my best to answer this sensibly.  :D

I'm a pug, I said it.  I am the only person among my group of friends that even plays mass effect....in fact many of them hardly play video games.  So I say do what you like, you don't owe anyone an apology for playing a game you bought as you see fit.

I owe nothing to anyone. Period. I got my gear, characters, etc by playing on lower levels then moving up in the game as I went.

I don't mind helping those willing to put forth effort and help themselves as well though. And part of helping themselves is honest self assessment of whether they are in over their heads. If you're dead every wave I cannot imagine it's fun for you nor is it fun for me. If I'm restricted to playing the most OP kits to carry your weight I can't imagine that is fun for you either. So in the end playing the game for imaginary credits for imaginary weapons that you will never use is a waste of my time and yours if you're not enjoying the ride to earning those weapons and credits. I play gold, plat, or whatever; hell I'll even play lolsilver with a friend as long as you let me wash the scrubiness off between waves.
