Now there's a decent chance this has already been addressed somewhere but I figured I'd broach the topic anyway. I can still distinctly remember the first time I saw an Abomination up close. It was the Sloth possessed asshat that I'm sure anyone who has played through Origins more than once hates with a passion. Now, this might be the fact that it was the Monday after my birthday weekend and I was running on empty, but I was genuinely taken aback and disturbed by this thing, almost as much as when I encountered a Broodmother (The fact that my Warden was a Mage certainly didn't hurt the 'oh crap' factor).
I genuinely like their downright screwed up design. They're appearance for all intents and purposes told a story, the body the demon was playing house in clearly was not designed to handle this sort of strain and a series of random and horrific mutations had taken place. As I said, I genuinely like the design of Abominations, but here's my one problem with them. The series of random and horrific mutations has the same end result each time, they all look exactly the same. If they could have just added one or two variations to their design it would have made the monsters as a whole more believable, at least for me.
Long story short, Abominations are awesome freaky monsters, and my one problem with them is that they all look the same. With the leap in generations and the obviously massive increase in graphics, I find myself hoping that this will change in DAI.
