Any writers out here? Preferably any with fantasy works, as I'm a fan of it. Sorry if you guys don't welcome anything this random, I'm too used to the Bungie forums.
Does anyone here write?

Welcome, and congrats on your first post lol. If you're looking for fanfiction and such, you could start looking in the fan-creations section. There's some great talent over there

Yes, but not fanfic.
Feel free to send me some if you'd like! I personally prefer non-fanfiction.

I do write. But I plan to have a future in game development, so most of the stuff I write now I stash away in a portfolio for future stuff. Only in my second year of programming/software dev though, so still have lots of time before school's done.
I've been writing forever though.
Does anyone know how one would go about getting stuff published?

You really just need to research agents and publishers and then submit inquiries to them following whatever guidelines they lay out. Start working on letter, synopsis of your work that will give a general idea of it as most publishers and agents will not want a full manuscript right from the start. You would need to sell them in a short letter and make them want to ask for a larger piece or the full manuscript. From what I could tell agents weren't required but they greatly increased your chances of being published, so you would need to sell one of them on the work first.

I've only ever written for a NWN module I made where I had to write dialogues and so such. I'm never doing a mod again especially one like that which requires you to write like you're doing an essay for top marks. Besides I simply don't have time for that stuff anymore...

I write a webcomic (see below in signature). Also working freelance atm waiting on some things to get published but nothing in fantasy other than for personal reasons.

I went to school for Game Design and got a webcomic out of what I learned, right now the game industry is really hard to get into without knowing someone or having some experience but as a programmer you stand a better chance.

....Yeah. I'm currently finishing my first legit novel. (been writing for years but only for fun)
I wish I had thought of using a place like this for my beta reading. I tried to get some of my friends to help but they all flaked out on me *frowns* I'm almost completely finished with revisions, now. Maybe I'll put it in off topic once I'm done.
Oh, and welcome!

No.
But Gondor sucks. Rohan ftw. Can't win your own wars, even back in the Second Age we had to come from the North just to save yo' asses.
Thanks for the land and all, but it was gonna be ours anyway xD

yes, but Sci-Fi. Lightspeed does both original sci-fi & fantasy short stories: http://www.lightspeedmagazine.com/
want to submit to them some day, but don't know what yet.

My friends were great when it came to reading mine, the one agent I did actually talk to though
He wanted me to make some changes that I just couldn't stomach and I haven't looked into publishing since then.
