Ok I know I'm late to the game but playing ME3 for first time now. I got ME2 for ps3 when it can out but sold my ps3 shortly before me3 came out and have it again. I was going to buy the trilogy buy picked up the third for 5 bucks.

Anyway, I was soooo impressed by the second. The story characters and gameplay had new in awe. I loved all the characters and felt like I got to know them all. I know ppl say the first is better but this was my first forray into the series with no background and was amazed. In fact seeing that choices from the first effect 3 so heavily may prompt me to get the first. That said I'm halfway through me3 and really disappointed so far. The most glaring thing is all these great characters from the second make brief creepy cameos in the third just got the sake of being in it.. I played as infiltrators and there are barely any dam biotic squadmates! I loved in two that I could take two biotics and blow stuff up even tho I was infiltrators...all there is so far is liara. Wtf?!?! Vega sucks, he's the Jacob of this one but at least Jacob had some biotic powers. All of the squadmates feel the same I'm really pissed. I romanced Miranda and wanted to continue that but she's barely in the game. Not too mention I'm expecting the ending to ****** me off. I know I can get the dlc prothean and that assassin guy down the line but this is ridiculous... They really messed up this one.. as I'm playing through I find myself pissed about going with all shooter type guys into a mission cuz there's plenty of better shooter around and whenever a previous character comes it in saying that was it. Not only that.. there no NEW characters really.... Very disappointed. Feel like they put way to much time into the multiplayer which is dumb anyway ...find of cool powers there but this isn't a multiplayer game. I used to be throwing around biotic explosions left abd right while sniping and hacking geth there's barely any synthetics to fight either...anyone else feel this way and the lack of biotic squadmates ****** off anyone else...

Btw...I wanted to add I'm playing as mostly paragon Infiltrator where somehow everyone lived my first playthrough of the 2nd. Shortly before I bought the third I started an evil female shep and she is sooooo much better than the male. I think it's the voice acting. I almost wanna stop playing three and go back to that game..that's how mad I am. I wonder if I had started with the first if it would have seemed more cohesive as I've never played it and only watched YouTube videos of some parts.

Also played a Paragon Infiltrator throughout the series, and was pleased with my experience and results. I did receive some tips to help me avoid the more profane language (my personal peeve), and the Thermal clip policing was not as bas as in the previous title. Since then, have replayed several times to cover the four classes I prefer; Sentinel is now my fave.

Sorry you do not like it, but my experience differs greatly.

ME-3 is awsum !!! Vega is a tank. On insanity it has some tough combat moments. Playing as an adept you will die now and then. I think you have to replay it to appreciate the gameplay. I have started Playing ME-1 yesterday once again. It is ridiculous. 40, 50, 60 , seconds cooldown after using a power. It seems horrible. And yet i like, no, i love playing ME-1 again. Don' t ask me why . It is a mystery.

Yes I could see how after me2 you would be annoyed at the choice of one biotic squad mate if there's no Kaidan and Javik in me3.

 

However the Citadel dlc if started after a particular mission tends to make up for that a bit. It is the only reason I still play me3.  And Vega's not so bad, I got to like him eventually.

 

I wasn't really disappointed myself because I tended not to use biotics apart from Shepard in me2.

Who is 'that assassin guy'? Do you mean Garrus?

I think there is a lack of biotic characters without Javik because the game is really designed to HAVE Javik.

They also have to account for the fact that some people will have Kaidan, so with him, Liara and Javik they can't really add more biotic characters.

Javik (the Prothean on the From Ashes dlc) is a biotic and you can do the Eden Prime mission to acquire him pretty much right away (after Mars at least) IIRC.  And there's going to be less biotic teammates on ME3, because there are less teammates in general. You don't have 13 squadmates like on ME2- you get like 6. 

 

And while James may be a bit of a boring character, like Jacob, his powers are far better- spec Fortification for Power Synergy, and watch as his frag grenades destroy everything. Squad Incendiary Ammo is really nice too.

 

And the romance options for ME2 characters are really bad, from what I've seen (aside from Tali, that is). If you want more dialogue and cutscenes, you need to romance one of your ME3 squadmates.
