I would use either this or this if you want to go full fitness.

I like the Arc Pistol most, but pretty much every weapon works (Talon, Hurricane, BPP, Harrier,...)

An aside...I've been trying to use incendiary rounds to prime fire explosions with overload. I'm not quite sure if that is how this works. I also tried warp ammo, thinking they could prime biotic explosions if I cast warp on a primed target. That doesn't seem to work. Anyone have some tips for this?

You shoot at your target until some kind of red burning effect appears on it. This means your target is primed for a FE. Then use Overload on that target to detonate your fire explosion.

Warp Ammo does not prime for biotic explosions.

Using a weapon incapable of headshots on a turian... that just feels so wrong.

lol - you've been in a game or two with me... you probably didn't notice I really, really don't do min/max - I do stuff that I find fun!

Stunlock all the things with Stagger > Overload > Warp > repeat :P

But what could be more fun than headshots? Aside from more headshots? ^_^

Mattock is great on him! However, you would pretty much need to use armor piercing ammo due to your lack of an AR piercing mod.

I prefer power damage on tech armor and 3 fitness, myself. You could split each 4/4, or 3/5, respectively depending on how comfortable you are

Warp ammo is actually quite good if you don't have armour piercing ammo or mods as it mitigates the armour penalty - it also gives a damage bonus against targets affected by a biotic power, like warp, reave, dark channel etc.

That's probably the best build I've tried on him. Powers are going to be pretty much the same on everyone's builds. Turian weapon passives are just too good to pass up. I go a little into tech armor for DR but go 5 into fitness to get shield recharge up as well which is a better option IMHO than the small amount of extra DR in a typical 46664 build.

As far as the hurricane, you have to have some form of armor sundering or piercing or you're losing a lot of damage on it. To me personally incendiary is the best ammo for it on this kit. FE all the small things or shoot them till dead, warp incendiary to the big stuff. Any weapon though is awesome on the Turian Sentinel.

To put it slightly more accurately, WA gives bonus damage against health, barriers and armor, but never against shields. The damage bonus is larger if the target is primed, but that only really matters on level 3 & 4 ammo, the benefit from priming is negliglible on low-level WA.

This, run it with Incendiary ammo. BSN will whine, but they whine about everything anyway. Also, reload the claymore with the trigger, helps reload canceling.

Maybe I'm not understanding this right?

Should've added, if you're playing on console.

Wouldn't reload hiding with overload/warp be a better option?

Also if we're talking incendiary effect we should probably elaborate on it. You have to warp first then shoot to get proper stacking on a target. It should OHK a platinum Brute IIRC.

46664 is the build I've always enjoyed.

(If I am using a heavy gun, I'd go with capacity in rank 4 of passives)

He, along with DI are the only two characters that I like to try various weapons on. So, basically any weapons works.

I checked your manifest - suppressor is a good choice if you want to focus on headshotting (overload helps with that because of stagger). If you're taking suppressor, I'd recommend hurricane to deal with armor. Executioner is another nice choice.

Among uncommons, Tempest, locust, mattock are all good on him.

And if you want to make his stability bonus count, you can experiment with argus or hornet, or even the revenant.

Wow, thanks everyone! I'm on holiday hours (usually go to bed at around 2-3 am) and was asleep when all of this great advice was being given. I'm going to have to try some of this out.

In case anyone cares, I recorded some video of an accidental gold duo that took place last night. This was my third or fourth gold game. Finding a gold game late last night was a little tough, but I stumbled in on a guy playing alone with a geth juggernaut. I'm not really sure if I was a burden or a help. But I recorded it and timestamped all of my booboos.

Maybe folks can give tips on how to avoid making the same mistakes over and over...and over.

After watching the video, i can definitely see how an adrenaline mod would have helped. The turian needs all of the agility it can get:

oh and thanks to TheNightSlasher for some video recording tips!

Sure when you cancel, but you have to start the reload before you cancel it. You reload with the trigger and cancle with a bumper.

The only fault I can find with the OP's build is that it needs more armor piercing or weakening.  As it currently stands, the build is losing 50 damage per shot vs. armor (or 25 per shot if the target is Warped first).  Since the OP doesn't have the SMG HVB, he/she needs to either use AP ammo or Warp ammo.  If you're not using AP 3 or 4, you will still want to Warp armored targets before you shoot them.  Otherwise, I think it's a great build.

And I think there's nothing wrong with using stability gear or mods with the Hurricane, especially on Gold.  The Hurricane's accuracy is actually not that bad if you are ADS with it.  Having 100% stability can make the Hurricane a pretty decent mid-range gun, and will probably increase your effective DPS vs. mooks.

Best character in the game IMO. This is my go-to Platinum build.

http://kalence.drupa...13251364!BF9A3G

I've re-specced the Turian Sentinel more than any other, and I find this build is most effective.  That said, I understand the OP's desire to have more shields while learning Gold.  But in a Gold game I think doing 30% extra damage with every single cast is more useful than 20% extra shields at a threshold where they are little more than a placebo.

There are no bad suggestions so far, as you can't really go wrong with such a versatile character.  DragonRacer must not have seen the thread yet - she taught us all what he can do with the Mattock.  I prefer the Lancer or Arc Pistol or sometimes the Falcon, but he really can use anything - just make sure you have some kind of piercing.

The OnlyUseMeArcPistol build is the only build.

I have no words for how much you're missing out on if you have an "only" build for Senturian, the most versatile kit in the game.

Amen. I probably use Arc Peestol more than anything else on him, but he's a Turian- he does well with pretty much anything. Lancer is really fun on him, Paladin is fun, Hurricane with Warp Rounds destroys bosses ridiculously fast, the PPR works really well, and you could use pretty much any shotgun, except that the last thing I need right now is yet another kit chewing through my (already minuscule) reserve of Shotgun amps.

The Argus is actually really fun on him.  It is a little bit weak in the armor damage department, but it just annihilates mooks on Gold.  100% stability is a must though.  Something like this is what I use.

You really can pretty much put any gun on him.

But placebos do work. :P

I used to use your build but found I prefer 36665. Because I usually use the Arc pistol I find the extra power damage negligible as nearly every mook dies in one shot anyway, I only use Overload on them if I need the stagger or to help kill a charging Phantom. As for bosses, Overload followed by a couple of charged shots then Warp for a Tech Burst will strip their shields well enough even without bonuses to power damage.

There are so many good ways to play the Turian Sentinel though, I wish more kits were like him.

Damn it cato, I can't justify another re-spec card on the TSent!!!

Mind you, I assume that's the build I saw first hand stacking up 200K+ a couple of times, so I'll definitely give it a go.

I can see that. Do you still use the stability mod if you're on-host (i.e. your stability passives are working)?

It's not really a big enough change to warrant a respec I suppose, especially if you still find respec cards to be ultra-rare.

I actually use him as a crowd-control kit with a Falcon... it's amazing against Geth and Cerberus (except Primes/Atlases) and not bad against Reapers/Collectors; the Falcon I will hurt your CDs a little though.

This is the closest I can get to my setup using your manifest: http://kalence.drupa...!21631131!DFAB3

But since putting a detonatable (that's a word right?) ammo type (Disruptor or Incendiary) on the Falcon is really important to the way I play it may not work for you with the handful of consumables you actually have :|

This was the build I used most often initially. Hurricane for back up and incendiary for cheese. It makes him pretty much immune to phantoms. Find spawn, stun spawn with Falcon, spam overload, laugh with glee at the explosions. As I say, he puts the troll in crowd control. Hurricane for bosses.

Turian passives are great but you can't count on them off host.

You are right that warp ammo doesn't prime for BE's.

There are many ways to play TSent. He is versatile and fun and complements any lobby. I switched to the standard 46664 but I don't enjoy it as much. How to spec him really depends on how you enjoy playing him: power spammer vs. weapons platform or a mix of the two.

A build that discard Tech Armor entirely. Interesting.
