Another innocuous thread hijacked by PC elitists I see. You'd almost think they were trying to convince themselves of something that might not actually be true.

I don't actually think Destiny is going to run 60FPS... Which is a damn shame but 30FPS is better than 0FPS so I guess Consoles win one round. If you have any evidence that the PS4 Version is going to run at 60FPS (it ran at 30FPS for the Alpha build) I'd absolutely love to see it.

Actually you shouldn't need to bother searching, a quick google search put up a lot of actual Bungie quotes that the PS4 version is locked at 30fps like the rest of the platforms. Reasons cited as being "Cross Gen compatibility standards" or some such. I guess it's possible because the code has to work across generational gaps, but I still think it's industry talk for "We aren't familiar enough with the hardware yet."

Its not like there are Insecure console gamers who like to bash PC gamers or anything.....oh wait

I'm waiting to see if it's ok with my current phenom II.

If not I'll be buying a new compter: corsair graphite case (if I go for mid tower) or bitfenix prodigy (mini-itx) + 4790k and etc.

You're good to go unless you get a power cut ;) .

I got alot of spare computer parts laying around I could build one of equal value to the one I have in my Sig. :D :)

Late last year I bought the Xbox One on Day One.

So far with it I've:

*listened to music

*watched movies

*watched game livestreams

*watched streamed televised programming

*worked out(Xbox Fitness)

*Skyped

*explored the internet

*posted on the BSN a few times(not this moment but heyo)

But most importantly, gamed. Most of the games I own for it are free titles either bought by a friend for me(Titanfall, later this year the same friend will get me Assassin's Creed Unity) or downloaded with Games with Gold(Max:The Curse of Brotherhood, Guacamelee, etc etc), though I've purchased a few(Assassin's Creed Black Flag, Peggle 2, Trials:Fusion). I'd get more games but I'm really trying to save money.

Later this year, besides enjoying Assassin's Creed Unity as mentioned prior, I hope to enjoy Ori and The Blind Forest(http://forum.bioware...e-blind-forest/), Halo:The Master Chief Collection(http://forum.bioware...al-halo-thread/), and quite obviously,

Dragon Age:Inquisition.

Things are looking up for gamers across the board. :)

I was planning on purchasing the XBox One for Dragon Age Inquisition, but when my dad heard he went and got me one for Christmas.  So technically I spent nothing.

Tell your dad he is a top lad.

Use that exact wording or it doesn't count.

I don't know what kind I'll need. I figure I'll wait to get the game, look on the back of the box to see what the PC requirements are, then go over to a computer store and ask them really nicely to make the modifications necessary to make DAI play like a dream.

I don't personally care for power being pushed to the max for my games.

I want my games to be fun, and that depends on a lot of factors;as far as hardware goes, its not how powerful the hardware is in my opinion, but how well the hardware is used.

I'm confident that Inquisition, if the game rocks(and I hope it does), will rock on all platforms its available on. :)

I have already bought a new 27" monitor and I'm itching to build a new PC.  http://pcpartpicker.com/p/k7JRYJ

AMD A8-6600K 3.9 GHz Quad-Core

Asus F2A85-V PRO ATX motherboard

G.Skill Ripjaws X series 32GB 94x8GB) DDR3-1600

Seagate 1TB Hard Drive 3.5 7200RPM

Sapphire Radeon R9 280 3GB Dual X Vid Card

Win 8 64-bit

I am still unsure if I really want to spend the money to get a R9 290x or go with a 6-Core processor, but I do really want to max Inquisition out and it still be buttery smooth.

Why are you using an APU + discrete GPU? And you really don't need 32GB of RAM unless you're rendering or video editing.

This would be my first build, and I'm still learning.  I was told, "get as much memory as you can afford, get it all"

Almost all modern CPUs ARE APU's. All intel ones are. I'd go for al intel based processor, rather than an AMD one. An i5 K series model  + 16 gigs of RAM + your R9 280 or a GTX 760 would be great.  Your build is pretty good too, but you can't beat intel in terms of performance right now.

All Intel processors except for the Xenon series. And you know what I mean. AMD APUs are weak and meant to be used for light gaming and general tasks on their own.

Rest of the build looks pretty good to me too. Don't use Raidmax PSUs, they're generally low quality and use other brands like Antec, Seasonic and Cosair. 720watts is also a bit overkill for a single GPU system unless you plan on adding another one later on.

It wasn't for DA:I specifically, but I now run SLI'd GTX 780 TIs, installed a solid state drive, and upped my RAM to more than I'll probably ever need at 24 gigs. I had money to blow.

Thinking about giving my CPU the boot.

I heard a rumor that bioware uses AMD cpus, and that it is likely the game will be optimized for such.

bf4 runs at   720p but it has been upscaled to 1080p  its just blown  up  720p

the interview for doom  4 as   i understood it was talking about pcs  runing the game  at 60 fps as the game is still indevolment   there runing on pc   we will see when  doom  is out if the cons run at  1080p 60 fps

CoD Ghosts runs native 1080p at 60 fps on PS4.

Doom will run 1080p/60fps for consoles.

It uses a thing called mantle to reduce computer overhead and it is made by AMD. Goggle mantle and find out what it actually does.

My 6 year old dustbox of a PC is not up to snuff for playing current gen games anymore.

I don't have much of a budget but a new PC is on the menu for me for sure. Specs to be determined once I scrape the money together.

Ghosts is last gen game. I hope they can hit 1080p 60 FPs with it! Anyway, if they get the Xbone to hit 1080p 60 FPs in Doom, that means dumbed down graphics.

You're thinking GPU's. CPU's don't really work that way, both intel and AMD are x86 parts so any optimization (outside of special instruction sets) will carry over for both CPU brands.

As for GPU's, the engine uses Mantle which will lower CPU overhead vs DX 11. But most people have very powerful CPU's (You'd have to go back many years to find a desktop CPU thats less powerful than say the CPU in a PS4).

I never buy new hardware for a single game, that would way too much money spent because of a single game.

I generally buy new hardware when the old one is broken, like i did with my graphic cards or when it's really really old and i want an overall upgrade, which i do with the rest of the hardware, like motherboard, cpu, harddrive and so on.
