I'd just like someone at bioware to read the art of war and make sure the Inquisitor's battle plans actually match up to the guidance in that book.

"Bioware" and "sensible depictions of strategy/the military/anything related" don't really go together.

I will probably go out of my way to not kill any animals unless I absolutely have to, and will also try not to be a flaming dick for no reason.

When you say animals, do you just mean real life animals like wolves, bears, and bunnies, or are you counting fantasy animals like giant spiders, drakes and dragons, trolls, and that giant blue desert lizard?

I don't go out of my way to be rude, always fight against racism, slavery, etc.  As for looting chests, I never really thought that I was taking things away from poor people, now I feel awful! I always feel bad looting Danyla's pelt, but I still do it lol  I've never seduced Cammen or Geyhna, Caladrius *never* leaves the alienage alive, and I just can't bring myself to be rude lol.  This is probably my 7th playthrough of DAO and it's the first time my rogue has stolen anything...I really want to get the Crime Wave quest under my belt, for completeness' sake, if nothing else.

If I am in the home of a minor NPC commoner or innocent I actually won't rifle though their belongings and clear them out.

Dead bad people I will help myself to their stuff.

I have zero qualms with looting corpses off the battlefield. If it has items I need to survive, I'll take them.

Pretty much anything goes--depending on what sort of character I am playing. If I am playing someone ruthless, I don't tend to care about political correctness or hurting someone's feelings. If I am playing someone a bit more harmonious, my decisions will lean towards honesty, diplomacy, etc.

I do hate killing animals, too. I hated being forced to kill that deer in Tomb Raider. Oddly, I love Saint's Row because if someone cuts me off, I can pull them from the car and beat the snot out of them. /shrug

dont really care for playing rude or evil characters, for i like to have people like me, not fear me.

as for hunting to extinction, if i need crafting ingredients for something i want, then yes ill kill animals even if it means hunting them to "extinction," however i do believe we cannot hunt to extinction, but instead have the population of that species disappear for a while until we come back after enough time has passed for them to get the population going again

If getting the best gear means killing a endangered animal like say, a dragon, I'm going to do it.

My characters aren't me so I pretty much do everything you listed with them depending on my character XD My Warden's were all quite little shits so they did all of that. My Hawke's were more in the good side so they didn't so some of that stuff.. however they looted corpses. Since it's video game and I need money to survive no matter how good my character is :P

I think in DAI I will play some more villanous characters and some more heroic ones and they will act differently :) I think everyone will take loots though!

Not really.

Only thing I try not to do is betray people unnecessarily.

Actually none of these) and the older i become the more versatile characters i play. So i do pretty much everything listed, since its just a game. I have enough morals and restrictions in real life.
As for being rude/snarky, my most favourite out of BW pc characters were actually the Sith in SWTOR. I hope at some point i can be something like Sith Inquisitor or a Sith warrior in the game.

I do that, yes ... No problems with looting and stealing and things like that*, but I don't kill animals that don't attack me (and really hated the mabari mobs in DA2), same for NPCs who I see no justifiable reason to kill, and I don't play characters who are outright rude and malevolent anymore. I just don't enjoy to create, play and watch a character for lots of hours who defies my most basic real life morals and who I therefore can't relate to in the slightest.

Oh, and I certainly don't litter my gear, but not because of any morals - I just want to sell everything in order to become rich. And this I will do regardless of the type of character I currently play.

* sarcasm, being disrespectful to authority figures or trying to sleep with everyone is also okay if I play that sort of character

Why is looting bad? It's not like those fellows are going to need that stuff anyways.

Nope

All animals that approach will die,all bodies shall be looted, Cole and Cass will be trolled so say I :P, I may not be rude but I will sarcastic and condescending when possible (much like real life lol ), I shall bed Vivienne, Cassandra, and Josephine as quickly as possible, though not all in the same playthrough ;)

Yes indeed your sensibilities shall not fly here :D

I do not want real life sensibilities in any RPG game; instead, I want immersion.

Immersion

-Weather have actual gameplay effects that players need to take into consideration as opposed to just visual effects. A good example of this is Frostfall.

Spoiler

-Inclusion of food, drinks and diseases to enhance the gaming experience. A good example is RnD.

Spoiler

-Better use of wildlife and animals in game. A good example is Hunterborn.

This has made me realise I never roleplay. I play myself :P

I'll go out of my way to avoid killing animals, I won't even go after the dragons, shame about the materials but the line about them limping pitifully? Yeah I think not.

Certain enemies I'll let run away, like that dwarf who worked for Jarvia because he had a child to support, but if by killing them I can save lives, like slavers for example, then I will.

As for looting corpses, if someone tries to kill me, then yes I will loot their corpse. Stumbling upon a grave where something is left as a memento, that's something else.

I will snark through everything, so there may be collateral rudeness.

I can't promise I won't troll my companions' feelings, once again with the snark. But I'll never get mean or really mess with people.

Not getting my companions into bed after 3 conversations, that depends on them. If they want to after 3 conversations then who am I to say no. In general though I prefer to wait, makes it all the more worthwhile when you know someone (and even love them).

I do kind of hate killing animals in games, though - there's that horrible quest in the first Witcher game where you have to go around the city killing dogs. Odd that I dislike it so much, given how much I like MEAT.

I fond of killing animals, stealing from npc, killing them and looting their corpses afterwards. So very few moral restrictions.

animals are just mobile lootboxes so i want what they have and i have no issues stealing so no, real life sensibilities stay in real life where they belong.

I do not want real life sensibilities in any RPG game; instead, I want immersion.

Ishten makes such a good point about immersion that I'm reviewing the OP sensibilities list for how they impact immersion:

By the way, these are all total choices, so play the game how you like, but it is an interesting idea that playing a certain way is

more immersive and goes beyond the game mechanic.

Want to run around for LOLs? No problem, fill your boots.

But I like to immerse and role-play my world (usually as a 'me-like' individual, sometimes not)

  • Not killing bears/animals to not impact eco-system
The game is responding in DAI to the idea that you can't kill endlessly re-spawning bears etc
This brings an immersion benefit that it makes sense not to hunt to extinction if you want the resources in the future.
  • If enemies were to run away you would let them.
Enemies running away (or being allowed to run away) - might harm or help your reputation
those same enemies could attack you again later.
  • Not looting corpses out of respect
In practice, dead bandits are going to get looted of course,
but looting a grave could have an in-world reputational impact
  • Not making dialogue choices that are plain rude
Your party and people in general could be less helpful if you are not nice
  • Not trolling your companions' feelings
For the same reason, they could leave.
  • Not littering your unwanted gear
Others could pick it up (I think Skyrim does this)
  • Not trying to get your co-workers (companions) into bed after 3 conversations
Romance speed might change your LIs attitude toward you
    (what, no meal? No flowers?)

Most of the above I had thought were about introducing real life,

but actually this could be more about introducing authentic immersive activity.
