Looks like Skyrim how? They're both high fantasy games with next-gen graphics, but the similarities stop there. I'm fairly certain that big, awesome dragon bosses won't be an issue (the one in the E3 demo is massive) since the game is....called....Dragon Age.
The graphics look great but...

Skyrim is hardly next-gen graphics.... unless you mod the hell out of it on PC.

I agree with you 100% sadly we are the minority just look at how much skyrim sold
For me its always story and characters above everything else in a game
I'm hopin someday that that will apply to the majority of gamers
Or maybe different companies will just keep making different types of games for different types of gamers. Or heck, I loved Skyrim to bits and I love the Dragon Age series. I also liked Far Cry 3 and Prototype 1 and 2. It's possible for one person to enjoy more than one type of game. Bioware has a history of focusing on story and characters and I don't see why they would have suddenly changed that in a gamble to gain a new audience while alienating their current one.

Elder Scrolls have always had issue with making character models look decent. Skyrim was no exception there. Opening up Skyrim chargen is enough to elicit a cringe from me at the horrors of the textures and presets. Thank goodness it's moddable.
There are many things that make the Elder Scrolls series great, just as there are many things that make DA great. I enjoyed Skyrim for what it is just fine. But I don't particularly like playing games that feel devoid of character interaction and interpersonal relationships, where it's mainly just you alone and with a one-dimensional luggage character.

I love Skyrim and Dragon Age but you can't really compare the two, sure both of them are set in a medieval like fantasy world but that's about it. Dragon Age is more character driven, a more in depth RPG experience, whereas Skyrim is a big fantasy adventure with lots and lots of dragons and it has the character conversational depth of a puddle.

(sigh)
I'm not convinced the OP's deep analysis holds up (and am regretting even posting (DNFTT) ).
Of course Skyrim, Dark Souls and Dragon Age are all great games.
Skyrim does not hold the moral high-ground for maturity and whilst large bosses are great,
the maxim 'size isn't everything' holds true in this case.

... The game itself looks like Skyrim but with a more teenage targeted audience.
Not sure I like the generic characters and smaller fantasy dragons, Bioware should give us some big awesome dragon boss fights like Dark Souls.
What about any of the characters is "generic"? We know so little about them at this point. And you're not sure if you like the "smaller fantasy dragons" huh? Well, that must be a terrible burden for you to carry. Best of luck with that. You really brought forth some cogent, intelligent criticism.
Bioware is not From Soft, and Dragon Age is not Dark Souls. It's too busy trying to be Skyrim (except for teens) remember?

Having an opinion =/= being a troll.
Also Dark Souls had the richest story of any modern video game.

I enjoyed the exploring and the sights but the characters were flat and the intelligence of the enemies were less of that of a bloody peanut especially the Dragons. For all the hype those flying lizards got the battles with them were disappointing since all it takes to bring them down is running around them slashing at their ankles with no strategy. That or hiding behind a boulder or tree and peeking out to take pot shots at them.
Hopefully the dragons here will need more strategy and team work to bring down. I do hope when we get to fight one for the first time that I will be sweating buckets instead of laughing my head off as I one shot it with an overpowered sneak attack.

lolno.
Much of Dark Souls story is player generated interpretations appropriated into the canon. FromSoftware is cryptic in their transparency at the best of times.
If that sounds like a negative remark, you're reading too defensively... Dark Souls knows enough to leave room for discussion and interpretation, it's what the Souls' series doesn't say that works in its favor.. I'd classify Mass Effect as having the Richest (As in most developed) Story and setting of any modern game, it lies on the opposite end of the spectrum, having almost every detail spilled out. Of course we all know the disadvantage of this type of richness, when things have to give for sake of gameplay, it creates dissonance. The most obvious example I can think of is the infamous "Thermal Clips" from mass effect.
What I'd say Dark Souls was best at is how it delivers story, but when you really take a step back and examine what is actually available, details are mercilessly scarce. I may be wrong, but in my interpretation of the word "Rich" I think of abundance.
I agree with you 100% sadly we are the minority just look at how much skyrim sold

Well, I personally think Skyrim has one of the best developed characters in gaming, if you consider the land of Skyrim itself a character in its own right. That's just my mentality as an exploration-geared gamer. Some people can't look at it that way.
All that said, I definitely think most people like Skyrim for the wrong reasons... if that's even possible with gaming. I can sum it up by basically saying #lolzsorandom.

Poking holes in your opinion isn't getting mad, it's just showing your opinion is based on flawed reasoning, or at the very least not communicated well.

Where's that Quirrell GIF when you need it...?
Yeah but it wont be as tough as a challenge, I don't know about you but I like hard bosses.
In any case, couple points:
- DA:I has difficulty settings - if it's too easy for you, up the difficulty.
- Since Dragons have been repeatedly implied (if not out-right stated) to be End-Game content, the fact that the Dragon in the E3 demo is being fought by a level 7 party would suggest that it's been nerfed for demo purposes - I'd expect the thing in the real game to be much tougher.
- I personally don't care about difficulty of boss fights, since I play for the story not the challenge, which typically means I end up playing on the normal or lowest settings, so YMMV on that point.

I'm not sure 'rich' is a good synonym for a highly detailed setting with a big codex. Richness doesn't imply density of information but evocativeness.

Yeah sure whatever man
Sure I liked the atmosphere and gameplay of Dark Souls and how difficult it was to beat BUT
its pretty much a fact that games like Skyrim and Dark Souls don't have a good story or good characters and they don't have to have them
Actually that's an opinion, Dark Souls had a great story, great characters and the most depth of most videogames out now. What you're getting confused over is its narrative, a game doesn't have to force feed you with cutscenes and dialogue trees to have a good story. Darks Souls story was great and it didn't even force it down your throat.
