At this point you're just trolling, we haven't seen the PC version but they have spoken about the top down tactical view in detail, maybe not how we get taken into it on PC but really why is that so important.

I'm trolling by asking where is the PC version, and you're saying "we haven't seen the PC version yet"?  *Thumbs up*  Thanks for the help, man.  Appreciate it.

Free camera movement....Ohhhhhhh....

I'm starting to get the feeling you've never even seen DA on PC before.

Question for the Bioware Employees posting in this thread:

- Is there an PC User Interface that has not yet been shown to the public?

- Will we get a pan/zoom mouse feature like all previous DA games?

- Will there be a hotbar for skills and spells on screen?

- Is the "tactical View" only for console or controller users, as this dynamic has always been available on PC via hitting pause and zooming out?

From what I remember the devs said, there's a specific mouse and keyboard interface, hotbar for skills and spells, and the TC is available to all platforms.

I keep looking for it, but I can't find any mention.

DO you possibly have a link, or was it from a video report?

I hope we get a different ability UI. The one we have seen in the E3 demo seems better suited for consoles than PC.

Where was this possible in DA2?

I'm starting to feel you can't talk a joke and you don't know I'm teasing you.

So then you agree with me.

Because clearly, you know this exists

Do you then agree that's it's very strange we have yet to see any hints of a UI that is not geared toward console?

It's strange. But UI is something they can tinker with till the end. Maybe the PC UI's bells and whistles are at a stage they aren't comfortable showing yet. They have said there is a UI specific to PC. They have also said PC gamers get the extra option of just plugging in a controller to get a different UI(a feature missing in previous BW games). They have said they are preparing to show off more of the UI before release. So, while it is strange, it understandable.

Believe this demo was captured on the PC, per Mark Darrah in the latter part of the vid after the 9:00 min mark:

What he says is that the demo was on a PC, but with a controller plugged in.  Which lends credence to the Laidlaw tweet.

OK, so maybe I can at least take a step back towards the window...  I still wanna see the damn UI though.  Over $200 riding on it....

You're still not getting it. Heck, one of the videos a post has  dai combat in tactical veiw. Making a fuss over seeing the pc ui makes no sense, it's not hard to program or make. They really don't need to show it.

So...if you're not sure you're going to like the product why did you spend over $200 on it?

Getting harder to understand what you're typing, but yea, they really do need to show something that many, many loyal customers are apparently taking for granted.

When they do hopefully show the pc-based interface, I will feel much better about it because that is what I and many, many others expected.  But until then, I don't really think I need to explain why it's such a big deal, and I surely don't care how upset it makes you or others who don't have similar concerns.

I.... assumed I would like the product?  It is Dragon Age afterall, and I enjoyed the first 2 and expansions.

And I did have the prior knowledge that I could cancel the order ....

Please do.

We have next to no information about the all stuff that's really really deep according to you guys.

We have no detail on our Castle, no Information about the Stats or Skill Trees, no Information about crafting, no Information about alchemy and so on.

We want to believe that DA:I is going to be awesome and deep and a really cool rpg, but we don't have anything to work with.

Besides that one leaked video, all the marketing just keeps showing action and cool dragon fight and badass inquisitor walking away from a conversation without even looking back. We haven't really seen anything deep so far.

Hear effing hear.

The only depth revealed so far is just how deep down the rabbit hole you guys went with the romances.

My first thought was "nothing good will come from this article."  Then I read the thread.  And it proved my point.  And, in many ways, the guy who wrote the article wanted this response.  And now it's back to arguing over gameplay mechanics now vs then, what makes a great RPG, and so on.  And it's a tiresome topic.

Mission:  make the "old school RPG gamers start waving their canes in the air with IN MY DAY..." as a way to continue to pile on Bioware's current gamer cred. And the result?   Mission accomplished.

Bioware, in a really strange way, is a slave to Baldur's Gate in many fans' eyes and can never be released from it.  Although some people have moved on to putting DA; Origins on that pedestal.  It's a strange phenomena.

But the UI we've seen isn't really compatible with how DA:O played on PC. That's where the concern is coming from.

We know the castle is customizable to a large extent. We can give it a chantry or mage tilt. We can alter it's appearance. with stuff like thrones and curtains and paintings and such things. We know there is a war table which sorta acts as an interface from which we can send agents on missions and from where we can continue the story from. We know it acts as a sort of DA:O camp where we can carry out companion conversations.

We know crafting works on sort of a template and not a recipe meaning a template for a cuirass can be made from different metals giving it completely different look and stats. We know we can customize individual bits of an armor while crafting(hence one slot in inventory) and also individual bits of weapon like the hilt and the blade of a sword. We know crafting works like commissions meaning the PC places the order and a blacksmith who can presumably be upgraded who works for the inquisition will craft it. We know we can send agents out to collect ingredients.

We have already seen many skill trees which has active and passives and also upgrades like in DA2. There are 6 class skill trees and 1 specialization skill tree for PC. Companions come with specialization and can not be changed but they can be given different weapons restricted by class. I don't have info on stats; I am presuming they work similar to previous games.

Nah, I highly doubt that was his "mission", because the guy who wrote this article most likely just wanted to get back to his game of Super Mario World 3d

Yup.  IIRC the companion stuff is pretty much done now and we'll be moving on to other aspects including more gameplay and "RPG" stuff.

No. They did the same thing with DA II, and ME 2 and 3. The only reason we saw the PC UI for DA:O so early was it started as PC exclusive.

Are you at all concerned about the amount of derision the "romance first, gameplay second" approach is garnering on forums outside of your control?
