Auto-dialogue and reduced choices in ME3 was hidden and the FOOLED YOU that Bioware gave us. The amount of it was staggering and disheartening, and coupled with the majority of dialogue wheel leading to only two choices.

Now, DAI has FOUR different voice actors, I honestly thought they were just going to stick with two and have them do an accent for American or British, respectively, but I was surprised with them having FOUR.

I am aware that VA's are not paid by the word, but I am scared that the FOOLED YOU feature (a bad feature that devs keep hidden) will be auto-dialogue and limited choices. The dialogue in the trailers could be an exception. I don't know, maybe I am being paranoid.

Regardless I am counting the days 'till release. Too bad I will be swamped with work until the weekend, but that is the best time to play, right?!

Not really. Bioware already said it will not have as much auto-dialogue as ME3. It's inevitable it will have some due to being a voiced PC but I didn't notice anything bad in the demos shown so far.

To be honest no. I wasn't that fussed about the auto-dialogue in ME3 because it was mostly expository in nature. It only bothered me in the final conversation, but in fairness pretty much everything about that last confrontation left me annoyed.

I've heard they're toning it down this time around, so if it didn't bother me first time around and there's less this time...well I guess I'm still fairly content. As I've mentioned before I have no problem with the player character being somewhat defined, so some auto-dialogue isn't a big deal for me.

I would not want to play a game where a VO tries to do an american accent (if they are a brit [excluding Hugh Laurie]) or if they were American, a British accent.

All of the dialogue shown so far in every video regardless of the length has been player input, was this the case with ME3 pre release stuff?

Well, okay then. Care to share details in the DAI demos shown so far as to why we should be concerned it will be anywhere close to ME3's auto-dialogue?

Agreed. It's normally cringeworthy whenever someone clearly not from that country attempts to imitate an accent. Except david tenannt, because that guy is a bad ass.

I don't know of I'm more afraid of auto dialogue to ME3 levels or no dialogue like in hype demo where the woman basically cries to you about her husband and you just say OK, thanks bye bye.

But once you make your goal cinematic story telling you're going to get more auto dialogue.

Honestly, I'd rather have auto-dialogue than have the illusion that we are choosing our dialogue when it turns out all the options say the same thing anyway (e.g. the first Mass Effect). As long as the dialogue is neutral and serves only to advance the conversation to the next actually meaningful dialogue choice, then I don't have a problem with it at all. I barely even noticed ME3's auto-dialogue.

I am a bit paranoid simply because it was so obfuscated in ME3.  But the signs so far are promising

edit:  I don't believe having the same actor provide both accents would save any money.  Voice actors are paid according to the time they spend.  Presumably there are minimums, so having someone do multiple minor parts makes financial sense, but recording the protagonists lines is a really big job, so there's no reason not to use multiple actors to do it.

I liked auto dialouge in ME 3 it gave shep personality we played as him for so long so I liked how for an example he could joke with Garrus (king of the bottle shooters)

and in general be more natural and not so robotic

I mean yeah, ME3 was made by Bioware but it's as if people forget DA is a different Bioware team. Not just that but we don't really have any evidence it will be remotely close to ME3 based on what we've seen so far. It's unrealistic to think it will be completely eliminated from the game but so far it looks like it will be no worse than DA2 if not better.

Nah. Auto-dialogue in ME3 never really bothered me to begin with. It kept the flow in the conversations.

Not to mention that the auto-dialogue has been already addressed as less prominent... I personally expect some just because of the voiced protagonist but I doubt it's ME3 bad.

Did you mean this http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0131540/ david cameron? Because to me, when someone says David Cameron (as I live in the uk) I think of the PM.

christian bale's actual accent is so transatlantic nowadays that he could easily pass himself off as an american without even changing his voice
