Do we get a cool uniform? Because if so, I would like to sign up.

I fancy a beret.

I didn't mind it in ME3, but I have no reason to believe there will be less dialogue options/occurrences than DA1/2.

christian bale's actual accent is so transatlantic nowadays that he could easily pass himself off as an american without even changing his voice

...Wait, where is he from again?

I'm just laughing at it taking people so long to be paranoid of limited choices or auto-dialogue. NWN did that, and I swear nobody noticed. Hell, NWN's probably the "three choice answer"-est Bioware game to date.

Did you mean this http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0131540/ david cameron? Because to me, when someone says David Cameron (as I live in the uk) I think of the PM.

Derp. I meant david tennant. I literally changed that to tennant, then changed it back again.

It always is subjective when it comes to auto dialogue. Personally I prefer when they have some dialogs that are spoken without our choice. Makes the PC feel more natural and less "robotic" in nature. Depends on how it is handled of course, but the recent gameplay videos left me on the fence.

Scared? Of auto-dialogue?

Usually people are scared of rabid dogs, bears, ghosts, poisonous spiders or death.

Auto-dialogue is more something to be slightly worried about instead of scared. It just seems like a pretty weird phobia if you ask me OP.

:P

Seriously though. No I'm not worried about auto dialogue.

Personally, I hate ME3's autodialogue with a passion. I think it takes us a bit too far into the realms of passive observer, where ME2 had just the right balance. YMMV, of course.

I'm not worried about auto-dialogue at all! I'm worried about not having enough dialogue. In the E3 demo part 2, when the Inquisitor finds Leliana, Leliana asks the Inquisitor did they bring weapons and there was just an awkward silence and a nod, that needed a dialogue option or just some dialogue.

Well the problem is balancing having a conversation between your PC and someone else flow more natural and having it seeming like you're a bystander watching a conversation between two other people, which is how it felt In ME3 at times.

Um, the point is that 3 choice answer is still a big advance on ME3's mix of none and two.

Also, I don't think NWN's OC is especially highly regarded.  It's a game that was redeemed by modding

I'm more worried about forced emotions like how Shepard acted after Thessia.

All of the dialogue shown so far in every video regardless of the length has been player input, was this the case with ME3 pre release stuff?

Nope, autodialogue was apparent in early promos of ME3.  Many of us assumed it was just done for the purposes of the demo, and not indicative of how the full game would be.  It wasn't until gameplay footage of a few early releases was shown that it became obvious that it'd be an issue.  Even then, people assumed it'd only be a problem for the first couple missions.

From what we've seen of the demo, it looks like autodialogue won't be an issue at all.  Or at very least, it won't be like it was with ME3.

I'm hoping it won't be an issue, but after ME3, I won't say that I'm not worried about it at all. The same goes for forced actions (like hugging Liara for example). I like to roleplay, and not every character I make is going to get along or like everyone in the party.

If anything, I'm worried BioWare hasn't gone far enough with "Auto-Dialog" in DA:I. Some of the lines in the demo from the Inquisitor come off contextually inappropriate without a further expansion on thought.

It's really a no-win situation. Too much dialog and you're at a big risk of over characterizing the player character (Mass Effect 3) too little and it seems disingenuous (Dragon Age: Inquisition) I guess in DA:I's instance it's better to approach it with caution and conservatism, but it's certainly not at a point that I'd say strikes a good balance.

I prefer control and contextually inappropriate lines over Sheploo auto-pilot.
