Pretty much what @TheNightSlasher said. But I do get pretty annoyed when others are trying to score horde on Objective Waves by nuking spawns especially during an Escort 'cause there's no problem with enemy spawning right next to you, right?

He's just actually saying what a good many of best players on here think, whether they say that in their posts is another thing.  I've seen many a 'score doesn't matter' type people suddenly start playing differently if they are 3rd on the score list in a game.

I have a competitive nature about me that gets into my world of gaming at times.  With regards to ME, I got that through self-imposed challenges along with team vs. team challenges and I always enjoyed playing with other BSNers that would keep me on my toes with their ability to play the game.  I was probably most competitive early on in the game during the pre-AC V speed run days, but still enjoyed mixing it up occasionally throughout the time I played the game.

I find that is I play for points, I actually don't have as much fun. And weird as that may sound. Sure it's fine every now and then, but not most of the time. Because if I play without ever bringing that pause screen up, and playing at my own pace instead of a mad furry to hunt down every enemy first, is when I having the most fun.

I'm not really competitive but I do sometimes go out of my way to try to screw with someone's score board position if I get the sense that they are trying hard to hold that first spot. It tickles me.

I like it when I end up in first. Not going to cheese it up or play like a jackass to do it though.

You give me no good reason to screw up your gameplay then. :(

It does matter to a degree, mainly to judge myself but also as a loose gauge of how the team is doing.

It lets me know how I'm comparing to the team, and if I need to ramp it up so to be sure I'm pulling my own weight.

But, what determines that score is what I care about and judge on, as I don't really approve of spawn nuking with missile as to me it's more akin to cheating, as you might as well just missile glitch to get the game over with quicker. They should have only allowed you 1 missile per game and no armored compartments. I love the challenge and especially the feeling of a game where all my comrades and I fought so hard, good teamwork aka reviving that guy while your other two comrades are just barely holding back the mass of enemies from eviscerating, smashing, and pulverizing you. Objectives, your whole team is on board doing it instead of scorewhores out trying to pad their stats instead.

I think I'm above average player but not great. At the beginning of my ME3MP career I completely used score to gauge myself and for like the first month I couldn't seem to break 20k score in silver... I was like, wth am I doing wrong.

Eventually I got it worked out, and somewhat related to score, now when in the lobby, N7/AP points indicate what to expect in that gold/plat match. But now I am finding people are trying to 'hide' their skill for whatever reason so they will have low ratings, but the guns never lie. I mostly pug, and I've seen too many that have N7 400 or less but they will have ultra rare guns over 5+ yet they do better than their ratings suggest.

Nah, I'm a firm believer in downplaying, that way I never disappoint and seem cooly indifferent.

Pretty indifferent towards score in this game for the most part though in some situations it's somewhat satisfying top-scoring, I get a bit smug when some spawn-nuking objective-ignoring reegar AIU or an actual hacker still gets rekt on the scoreboard.

I just need people to detonate my combos before I get frustrated, that's way more important than score.

By which I mean team synergy.

Your the kind of people I love to play with, assuming your not being jerky about how you do it (aka spawn nuking / not doing objectives to kill).

For me, you make it fun to compete, even if I'm trying really hard and your just driving miss daisy to mess with me, it works out good in the end.

Lol. Sue's more a lion than a lamb in my experience. She's a killing machine in game.

haha, I try not to make spawn nuking a habit. I do it occasionally to speed up a match if I'm getting impatient or to help because a particular match is a real struggle and other equipment are running low, but when I see others do it consistently in every match-especially in matches that have a good, solid team with no real struggling, then that kind of tips me off as to what the player's intentions are. I can't force people to stop doing it but that doesn't stop me from trying to intercept their spawn nuke with one of my own and I always hope it irritates them when I succeed.

I spawn nuke for various reasons. Generally they have nothing to do with the scoreboard. Real life demands me to speed things along occasionally.

You've always been nice to me. To the enemies, not so much.

All I know is when there's a full BSN lobby, sometimes you have to work real hard to see alive enemy even on plat.
And most of the time I get the feeling the wave is over half way done because how the spawns get eradicated in a whole each time so there's this pause and you see a lonely nemesis thinking she's the last enemy but when you kill it suddenly everything around you is red. (If you're packing a geth scanner) :D

I'm more of a medal ****** than scorewhore. Even if I don't finish in 1st, if I have more medals then I feel I have won 'game within a game'.

The only thing that really cheeses me are people who ignore objectives, especially hacks, escorts and devices, to run around killing stuff. If people want to nuke wave 11 spawns, idc that much personally.

Also, If I don't finish in one of the top spots, then that means it was an easy, fast game .. and many times, quite enjoyable. There's some really good players out there, no sense in being jealous really ..

I have noticed, when using one of my alt accounts, there are people out there who really do not like being outscored by the N7 30 dude. They can get downright pissed, and resort to rather trollish behaviors and objective wave scorewhoring

I am soooooo not the best of players when it comes to this game. I really don't care where on the scoreboard I am, just as long as I'm having fun. Though I will admit to being somewhat pleased when the match ends and I see my name on the top (not that it happens often lol)

A lot of people underestimate themselves. Generally BSN and gamefaqs people are better than 99% of the randoms out there.
